It is great to be noticed by our community!

Often businesses open because someone sees a need in a community and they capitalize on filling that need. Built in 1990, opening in March of 1991, my parents Stan and Yvonne Starkenburg opened Stanwood Self Storage because there were no storage facilities in Stanwood and there was a need.

That car your parents no longer use would be perfect for your son when he gets his driving license. Many self storage facilities have individual units large enough to store a vehicle, and because of the climate control, that vehicle will remain in excellent condition, as long as it is started occasionally.

Label boxes clearly and on multiple sides so that when you are looking for something in your self-storage space you can more readily access the things that you need, when you need them. Remember, heavier items on the bottom, more delicate and fragile items up higher, and items you need more often, closer to the entry.

Are your going to use self storage for seasonal items? This is a great way to keep bulky items like winter clothing, pool toys, and camping gear out of your hair. Try to place them near the door so you can easily access them without having to take everything out.

For many retailers, price breaks come with the larger amounts purchased. In addition, some items have a minimum order. If you need the product, but do not have enough space, keep excess inventory in a storage unit until it is time to restock.

Our storage areas and lockers are plain rectangles. If you have goods that cannot withstand stacking, we recommend finding inexpensive, self-standing storage shelves and putting them along the walls. They are not difficult to assemble, are lightweight, and will provide the shelf life your belongings need.

If you have a retail store and storage space is at a minimum, renting a storage unit can relieve the pressure of excess inventory. If you have seasonal materials that need to be held until it is time to put them on display, keep them safe with us until you need them.
