October is Pork Month!
Benton County Farm Bureau, Benton Co. IA Pork Producers, and local Benton County grocery stores- Fareway Stores Vinton & Roy's Hometown Grocery- are excited to bring Windsor Wednesday to the people of Benton County again this year. Join us in celebrating National Pork Month every Wednesday this October.
Starting this week, you will be able to sign up for the Windsor Wednesday drawing at the meat counter of each store. Each Wednesday, starting October 5th thru October 26th, a winner will be drawn to receive a 6-pack of Windsor Chops (smoked pork chop) and a pound of thick cut bacon. Winners will be notified by phone and asked to have their picture taken when they pick up their winnings.
Watch for the bucket at the meat counter and enter to win delicious pork! Real Farmers, Real Meat, Real Food.

A new week, a new location, and a new specialty pizza!
FRIDAY night back in Shellsburg setting up right next to Roy's Hometown Grocery starting at 5pm and going till sold out.
SATURDAY.. we are doing another private event.
SUNDAY.. we are setting up for lunch at Dollar Fresh (Hy-Vee) in Vinton starting at 12 noon and going till sold out.
Our new specialty for Friday and Sunday will be Chicken Fajita! (Using a Monterey Jack queso cheese sauce with mozzarella, grilled sliced chicken breasts and peppers)
Looking forward to another great week.

The pizza wagon will be in Shellsburg tonight starting at 5pm. Jalapeno Popper is the specialty tonight, but we have all kinds of toppings for you to create your own favorite too.
We will be between Roy's and Divine Decadence, just across the street from Pearl Street Social Club.

I went to Shellsburg to try Cranky Hank's, and I saw a local grocery store. I'm always looking for new places to get good meat. This place looked like it had an actual butcher shop in house, and there was somebody actually in there working when I was in the store. Here's some pictures in case there is something you see that you might want. Everything looked very fresh to me. The name of the store is Roy's Hometown Grocery.
