Busy day in the shop.
Matt and Lindsay are passionate HUNTERS and TEACHERS! Matt builds custom bow strings and was taught Matt and Lindsay are passionate teachers and avid archers.
They love to see kids become successful in and out of the classroom. Matt specializes in building top notch custom bow strings. Because he is a NASP coach, he is always looking for the best combination of materials for his school archers.
Operating as usual
Busy day in the shop.
This is what started it all. There is nothing Lindsay and I enjoy more than giving kids the best possible product. These kids spend countless hours shooting a bow where the only things that can be changed is the shooter or the strings. It may just be a Genesis bow to some but to these kids NASP season is their world.
The results speak for themselves.
Getting ready for the first hunt of the season. The weather looks like it’s going to cooperate. Hopefully, we can seal the deal on a nice deer for a first time hunter. ArcticShield
When your dogs 🐕🐕🐕🐕 get you up at 5 am (every morning) and you have lots of stuff to do this week (meetings, packing, and moving), you get going on things. Archery 🏹 deer 🦌 season is coming in hot! PALO OUTDOORS and are keeping the orders coming.
Congratulations to these two amazing young ladies. The amount of time, dedication, and perseverance it takes to get to this level is an incredible testament to their character.

My job is easy. All I have to do is build high quality strings these ladies can trust and they take care of the rest.
This is why I teach.
Three years later and this is still true. Sorry I don’t post a ton on my page. It’s because I’m busy making strings. 🤷🏼♂️
It might have been -9 when we set out this morning but that didn’t matter because I was wearing my ArcticShield upland gear. Mattie had an awesome point on a hen pheasant and then retrieved this quail we flushed from some sorghum. Our very first quail!
No bird but we had a good workout. ArcticShield
I finished up my orders before midnight like I wanted so that I can deliver them tomorrow. I may not post a ton of pretty pictures of strings all the time but that’s because I’m too busy making them. I’ve finally come to the realization I don’t have a slow period and that’s thanks to two of the best archery shops in Iowa.

Daughter: I think I want to start bow hunting.
3 days later….
Me: here’s your new bow. I built some strings for it and tuned it already.
We are investing in another string building setup in order to keep up with orders. Our number one priority is quality and our second priority is turnaround time. We know what it’s like to have limited time to hunt and we want to keep you in the game. Our customers hunt will always be more important than our own.
Time to put my feet up. The food plots have been fertilized for the fall, the thin spots have been reseeded, and the trail cameras have been checked. It’s about time to pull out the ArcticShield camo and sit in a stand.
I’ve been up since 5:30 a.m., on a Sunday, to build string orders. Why? Because I know what it’s like to only have weekends to hunt. I know how precious time is to all the weekend warriors that live for the upcoming hunting season. I know waiting 12 weeks to get your set of strings means missing the majority of your season. It means practicing without having the absolute best equipment on your bow. It means having less than 100% confidence in your equipment. I absolutely get it. There are lots of things I’d rather be doing, but YOU having to put YOUR hunting season on hold isn’t one of them.
It’s the same way I build my strings, by hand. I take pride in all the work I do whether it’s each and every strand of string I’m laying down for a customer or building my own arrows. No detail is overlooked, no shortcuts taken, and only the very best will leave my shop. I love the look of hand dipped crested arrows.
I love it when a bow tunes super easy. The timing was spot on and no twists to the cables were needed. 👍✌️I just had to switch the bottom top hats and BOOM 💥!
Some people just like all orange. 🤷🏼♂️
Churning out a lot of strings this week. Bow season will be here before you know it.
The new shop space is almost up and ready! Time to start cranking out some string orders!
Order your strings now so you aren’t THAT guy coming into the shop right before close on September 30th and wanting to hunt opening day.
I got an absolute steal on this. And the auctioneer told my grandma’s conservator it was all worth $15-20k 😂 I’m laughing all the way to the bank. I’m glad they didn’t give me the chance to buy it 🤣
What a fun time shooting today! We had to knock off some of the rust. ArcticShield
Which one are you choosing? I’m taking 3D all day long!
I’m hoping this bow will be in the shop soon! Post what you would think would be a cool color combination for my new bow! If I pick your combination, I’ll send you a free set of custom strings!
I’m so proud of my daughter, Olivia. Her first time out deer hunting and she shoots a good one.
So Lindsay did a thing tonight...

So these are getting us excited....
I’m still building strings despite the this week. Nothing can stop us from getting ready for deer season!
We had a great time visiting Michigan Tech. Hopefully, we have a future Husky come this time next year.
Charter boat fishing on Lake Superior today. Beautiful!
Strings being made daily. There’s almost no wait time for customers at the local shops. Don’t wait weeks for other brands. Palo Outdoors and Fin & Feather will take care of you. They have the best prices and customer service around.
Mattie checking on the clover plot. I’d say it’s looking just fine and ready for a quarantine haircut.
The finished product. 1.25 acres of corn, 1.25 acres of beans, and 1.25 acres of sugar beets. Lindsay did the sugar beets all on her own. She spread them and then dragged them in. It was a fun day!
Corn and beans going in the ground using the trusty John Deere 694A.
My little smurfette helped me drag the food plots today.
Food plot prep day.
