Lolly Rash has honored the Friends of the Mississippi River Basin Model with a 10 Most Tribute in recognition of their dedicated work! As Lolly shared, “I would like to offer a 10 Most Tribute to the Friends of the Mississippi River Basin Model for their work to save this incredible place.”

Once used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Mississippi River Basin Model is a monumental feat of mid-century engineering built to simulate and study the vast river system that touches 31 states. Thanks to the ongoing efforts of the Friends group, this extraordinary site continues to educate and inspire new generations about the power and complexity of the nation’s waterways.

It started with a dream, and a deep love for the Mississippi Delta.

Jack Coleman grew up in Rosedale, Mississippi, surrounded by rich history and storytelling spirit. After years away building a career in Washington, DC, he felt the pull to come home, to restore, to reimagine, and to give back to the place that shaped him.

Alongside his wife Elizabeth, whose Texas roots gave her a love for heritage and hospitality, the two dreamed of more than just a distillery. They envisioned a space that could honor Rosedale’s past, breathe new life into its historic downtown, and create something lasting for generations to come.

What began as a dream is soon to be a gathering place, a distillery at the heart of a restored town, where fine spirits are poured and the soul of the Mississippi Delta is shared with the world. 🥃
