Dear Friends & Customers,
After nine incredible years, it is time for me to say goodbye to my store at 101 N Main in Okarche.
I opened this shop in October of 2017, just three months postpartum with my daughter Mattea, following the death of my dad. Opening the store was a way to honor his dreams for me and to step forward in faith during one of the hardest seasons of my life. What I never could have imagined was how deeply this place would become intertwined with my family and my heart.
My three daughters spent countless days here—summer afternoons, homework hours, and moments that now feel sacred in hindsight. I even spent the last moments with my sweet Whitley within these walls. After her passing in 2019, I buried myself deeper into work, believing that staying busy was the best way to survive my grief. This store carried me through loss, through healing, and through seasons I never thought I could endure.
Together, we made it through the COVID shutdowns, uncertain times, and ever-changing challenges. Your support, loyalty, and kindness kept these doors open and reminded me time and again why this place mattered.
As the years have gone on, my two living daughters have grown, and life has become busier in new ways. Naomi will be starting high school next year, and having learned firsthand how quickly time passes, I know how precious these next four years will be. You only raise your children once, and you only live once. Being present for them has become my greatest calling.
With the store struggling this past year due to my limited availability, I’ve come to realize that this chapter has run its course. As hard as it is to say goodbye, it feels right. It is time to close the doors and thank this location at 101 N Main in Okarche for all it has given me.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for shopping small, for showing up, for sharing conversations, stories, and seasons of life with me. This store was never just a business—it was a community, and I will forever be grateful for each of you.
With love and deep gratitude,
Jaime
P.S. Follow along for future plans as this isn’t the end for Bauernhaus but it is for our store front (for now). The store front however won’t be closing it will be evolving into something new and exciting follow Nixxen Rayne for the future of 101 N Main.
