Preventing unwanted calls (SPAM, wrong number)

In my experience, blocking numbers doesn't help unless it is a specific company calling you. The caller ID number is generally fake. Be careful downloading spam prevention apps. We see A LOT of problems from these "Free" apps. If the app comes directly from your carrier GREAT (T-Mobile Scam Shield, AT&T Active Armor, Verizon Call Filter), but if you choose a random one from the app store - just know we have seen fewer problems and better response from apps that cost and are not free.

There are many steps you can take to prevent SPAM, SCAM or unwanted incoming calls. If you are receiving a lot of unwanted calls, consider the following suggestions.
