NIXBURG HOUSE’ Invites you to imagine it is Spring-time….It may make you feel warmer, especially if you are in the beautiful Southern Sunshine.

Almost Christmas, well at least Thanksgiving, so planning is required.

We’ve had a taste of winter (to come) this past week, as our temps got lower and lower. My house is 180+ years old, and really feels the cold.

Brrrrrh; time to think about getting out the sweats from storage and the winter woolies that keep you cosy.

Just wearing a knitted scarf or cowl or neck warmer, or wooly hat holds in your heat. I have hand knits at Nixburg House, and you could order a special colour or

style to keep you warm, or give as a gift. Cotton knitted dishcloths are wonderful, and really last, and wash and dry even softer.

The shop will be open this Friday, Nov.3rd and Saturday Nov. 4th, 2017. Do stop by from 9-1pm, we could have some hot tea, just ask me, and I’ll out the kettle on.

Next opening will be 1st. weekend in December 1st and 2nd 2017; then closing up for the cold winter, re-opening early in March 2018.

Thank you for visiting my page. Send me your message or suggestion: [email protected].

Welcome to the re-opening of ‘Nixburg House’ on Friday, March 3rd, and Saturday March 4th, 2017.
Please stop long enough to have a nice cup of Tea with me, I have some special tea given to me while in England in November, by my Auntie Ena, my Mother’s younger sister and my God-Mother, who lives in North Devon, close to the sea, in England; where she formerly owned a 5-story guest house.
Come by and see what we have to share, you can order special knitted tea cosy like everyone has in England for serving tea from their teapot; to keep the second cup warm until serving.

If you like Tea Parties; there will be an Afternoon Tea, like those served in London at the Tea houses/and posh Hotels; at a much-reduced cost.
We will have an Afternoon Ladies Tea at ‘Nixburg House’; serving Savouries; cake, and biscuits (cookies) along with the best Hot Tea this side of the Ocean. Limited Seating, so go ahead and make your reservations for Saturday April 22, 2017;(which is also Earth Day).
You can join the group for just $10.00 per person, for Afternoon Tea on Saturday, April 22, at 2pm. You can be sure we shall have fun; and decide on another date for an ‘Afternoon Tea’ in late September.
You can stop by the shop, e-mail [email protected], or call my home at: 256.234.0957; when I will be happy to take your reservation.
After June 20th, 2017; you will be able to book a dinner, by the pool (and from the grill) or in the dining area of the cookhouse, warm and cosy @ “Summerdown Manor” (Our home) on Coosa County Road #4, in Nixburg. Private Bookings for parties of 4-6 or 8-10. Just call to discuss prices, menus and booking dates. You may bring your spirits or wine, and set ups/mixes will be provided. We Also are offering overnight accommodation for those that will prefer not to drive; with breakfast.
“Summerdown Manor” also offers special care for your loved small dogs. We have six special dogs of our own, every one came from the Shelters in Alabama and all had special needs, as well as needing a loving and forever home. Our dogs have been nurtured and loved. One of our little dogs is now completely blind; but he still enjoys life here. To be boarded, your dog must be house trained, “fixed” and get along with other dogs. They must also be on flea control meds and be vaccinated for rabies. We have a fully fenced dog yard for our dogs, and the yard is cleaned every morning and afternoon.
All you must do is make that reservation; whether it be for a private dinner party, with pool access, w/without overnight stay and breakfast; or boarding for your doggies while you are away.
Call: 256.234.0957 or e-mail: [email protected].
Pictures will be coming in the next few days.
Warm regards and hugs from Rosie
