As most of you know I lost my son Keyshan Dymani Gayle on August 30 2016. I didn’t just lose my son. He was a brother, friend, uncle, cousin and well lived among all who knew him. He just graduated high school. On his way to college. He was enjoying a night out with friends, when someone pulled up to the corner, got out of his car, and started shooting. Keyshan was hit. He was killed. One shot to the back. Keyshan was a good kid. Active in church he danced in the praise dance team. He was on the drama team. Video ministry. Never got into trouble. No gangs. Good kid. He never got the change to go to college. We created a scholarship at his high school. He was never the best student. This scholarship is for boys, who may not have the best grades. Boys who would never apply for scholarships. Boys who are good kids. Good personalities. Great smiles. Fun to be around. Because that’s all that Key was. All proceeds from the Unity Is Key T-shirt’s will go directly to the NFA scholarship for a young man to get a chance to go to college.

This is Syncere Tatum. He is 1 of 2 recipients of the Keyshan D Gayle Memorial scholarship. He loves and played football all his years at NFA. He is attending Anna Maria in the fall for sports management. (That’s exactly what Keyshan wanted to go to college for) May God Be with this young man in whatever he chooses to do.

This year we are giving away 2 to young men with NOT so good grades who still want to continue on with their education to become productive members of society. Even with all the overwhelming support, we are a little short for 2. They will be 2 $400 scholarships in Keyshans name.
