Ready, FIRE, Aim! Yep - I got excited and jumped the gun a bit. YES - there WILL be an adventure pairing wines, microbrews and quilt shops - but I didn't stop to consider I won't even be around the rest of the week. However, no details this week. We don't want to give out incomplete information.

09/18/2016

Going to jump right in and announce that Jen and I will be offering a winery/quilt shop hop tour. We'll have our secret, executive planning meetings this week and get the details out by the end of the week.

09/13/2016

Just wanted to let you Row by Row friends who came along with us in June, that I FINALLY got your surveys sent out. You should start receiving them today. Please take the time to fill them out and return them (I even included a stamped envelope) so we can make any improvements for next time. THANKS!

Don't forget to use your $5 bright green coins at Bits N Pieces in Pelham, NH.

This is a fun little swap for anyone who hates cancer. This one is specifically geared towards research to cure Ovarian cancer. Check it out and consider signing up. Yes, there is a fee to join, but that is donated.

Are you a mini quilt maker? Do you love a good quilt swap? Like meeting new people? Do you despise cancer?

Please hop on over to the Teal Mini Swap group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/twoforteal2014/?ref=nf_target&fref=nf) and start learning what we are all about! This year's swap registration begins July 25.

A HUGE thank you to The Quilted Crow, Log Cabin Fabrics, Quiltbug.com, Tiger Lily Quilt Co., Calico Gals, Mission Rose Quiltery, Gloversville Sewing Center, The Joyful Quilter and Pumpkin Patch. Without all of you allowing us to come to your shops, we never could have planned this. We know a lot goes into preparing for a group of our size and we appreciate all of your hard work and for making us feel special.

06/23/2016

Thank you to All American Quilt Co., Bits n Pieces, Patches Quilt Loft and Embroidery, The Bunkhouse Quilt Shop and The Quilted Shamrock for your donations and for offering us specials just for being a part of the bus trip. Even though we love to travel, we still love our local quilt shops. We also want to thank Alex Veronelli of Aurifil for his more than generous donation and Mistyfuse Iris for her generous donation as well.

We would like to thank everyone that joined us on our Row by Row adventure. Without all of you, the trip wouldn't have been possible. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed planning it and spending two days with all of you and hope to see you again in the future.

So after 725 miles; we went to 9 quilt shops, collected 10 rows (a lot of us also got the 9th row in addition to the 9 shop rows), played The Quilters Block Party Card Game by Purple Moose Designs (which was tons of fun), may have consumed a variety of adult beverages, learned more about our group leaders and what lectures and classes they have, what classes and lectures Mandy Leins, Terri Sontra and Debbie Wendt do (and got ideas for our guilds), met new friends, laughed, bought plenty of fabric, patterns, rulers, notions, Accuquilt machines and got some swag and prizes. What a great way to spend two days! Now it is time for a nap before our fabulous driver Joanne drives us back to our cars.

Do you think we were tired enough to stop there? Absolutely not! We had just enough energy for one more stop at Pumpkin Patch in Lee. Susan stayed open late just for us and had 2 rows for us to choose from. She also had a hexie potholder pattern for us to take and a pattern and quilt label. We felt bad that we didn't eat more of her treats she made us but we were full and getting tired. Thank you for welcoming us when we were running late and getting us checked out quickly. We had fun and a hard time choosing which row we wanted. Her Bobbin the Robin had moveable legs and wings and there was a male and female Bobbin. One even had glasses!!!

Did we give up after 7 quilt shops? Of course not! We are quilters on a mission!!! Stop number 8 was The Joyful Quilter in Glenville. Susan and her crew were gracious enough to let us have dinner in her classrooms and they made us brownie sundaes. They went all out and even gave us whipped cream!! Who doesn't like that? Susan demoed the Creative Grids Straight Out Of Line Ruler and over half of the bus bought it! There were even had a couple of trunk shows for us to see. Mandy Leins had her books and trunk show there too. Her custom quilting skills amazed us. We loved the freehand bicycle and camping designs. Several people fell in love with the new Doug Leko book and bought that and some kits. We will all be thinking of Susan and her crew when we drink out of our Dam Good Quilter mugs. Thank you for all you did and for having us!!

What do quilters do when they are done shopping and waiting for the others to finish making their purchases? They go to the liquor store next door to purchase a few things!

There is a 9th row this year for row by row. When you purchase a kit or charm pack from The Joyful Quilter, 20% of the purchase will go to a local city mission to combat homelessness. Some other shops may have the 9th row, but we want you to see what The Joyful Quilter has in case you want their color way. Each shop that has a 9th row will make it up in their own colors. We can't wait to see it in person!
