Fotis Dulos clings to life after apparent suicide attempt

Intentional CO Poisioning as a means to suicide. You don't know what's going on at the scene. You can't see CO. You might smell exhaust, but not always and CO doesn't smell.

ALWAYS CARRY A CO MONITOR. (You too PD!)

Fotis Dulos, accused of killing his estranged wife, was found unresponsive at his Farmington home as a judge could have revoked his bond and sent him back to jail.

10 adults, 15 children hospitalized after carbon monoxide leak in Donnelly

"Donnelly Fire Chief Juan Bonilla said investigators believe the carbon monoxide came from the use of multiple propane devices inside the house, including a furnace and a propane water heater."

All responders should have a working CO monitor when entering any residence for a medical call. Initial reports say that 4 were transported and eventually 21 more people were treated!

The house where the carbon monoxide leak was detected was being used as a vacation rental property, according to the fire department.

Anna Faris And Her Family Avoid Tragedy After Carbon Monoxide Close Call In Lake Tahoe

From the article: "The North Tahoe Fire District says the 13 family members, spanning multiple generations, got sick to varying degrees shortly after arriving at their rental. Initially, they believed their illness was altitude sickness. But two family members went to the hospital and were diagnosed with Carbon Monoxide poisoning."

Responders - Always have a CO monitor and always check for CO! This could have been tragic had they not gone to the ER.

A family visiting Lake Tahoe for Thanksgiving avoided tragedy when two family members left the holiday dinner to get checked out at a local hospital.

A generator being used for lights in the basement generated the carbon monoxide. The Higginses had placed a fan in the basement, too, but the carbon monoxide still got to them.

Rick Higgins said his experience is an example of how “quickly things turn” when it comes to carbon monoxide.

Rick Higgins was overcome when he was doing maintenance work on a cistern located in a basement at River Bend Estates.

ABC13-Courtney Fischer

Five people went to the hospital after being poisoned by carbon monoxide.

Don’t think it can happen to you?

Well, it happened to me.

When I was in second grade, my family was poisoned by carbon monoxide. Severely.

You can’t smell it, taste it or see it. We all just felt reeeeeally, really sleepy. I remember going to bed super early because I couldn’t keep my eyes open. My parents thought it was odd. But, I had been at a sleepover the night before. Maybe I was just exhausted from that? No one knew carbon monoxide was working its way through the kitchen and up to the bedrooms.

Our basement had recently flooded. Workers had set up a gas pump to pump out the water. The pump wasn’t properly ventilated.

Somehow, my parents realized something was very wrong. They went to my room to wake me. I was already knocked out. My mom had to physically *drag me down the stairs* to get me out of the house. She was too weak (too much poison in her body) to carry me.

Thank goodness it wasn’t too late for us. Paramedics arrived and we were taken to the hospital.

Hadn’t thought about that night in a very long time. In the 90s, carbon monoxide detectors weren’t easy to find. We didn’t have one. Not many people did. But, now you can buy one at pretty much any hardware store. Do it! Don’t take a chance. Read this ➡️ https://abc13.com/tips-to-prevent-carbon-monoxide-poisoning/3072727/

Water heater issue blamed for carbon monoxide leak that killed family of 4

"When tested during the investigation, authorities say the water heated immediately began putting off high levels of carbon monoxide. They are still looking into whether it was because of faulty installation or a faulty unit. While investigating, Genoa Township Fire officials discovered firefighters in Marion County responded to a similar incident on May 5. A person became sick, but survived, carbon monoxide exposure in their home, and the source was a Navien tankless water heater that had been converted from natural gas to propane. The Marion County incident also had a dislodged exhaust pipe."

Do you have the resources to handle a large scale CO event like this one that happened in Canada yesterday? We can help. Our monitors can be stored without degrading, and offer a long 5 year warranty on the sensor. They are great for every day use, too.
