Now is a great time to shop (and always consign) with The Homeschool Room! These last months we have been working long hours to stock up with ALL your favorites. Our curated inventory and plentiful selections are currently at their very peak! If you’ve shopped with us in prior years, you know that by the end of the summer that isn’t always the case…. Unfortunately, those items that were so plentiful earlier in the year can easily be sold out later in the summer! It happens every year with titles we thought we had plenty of.

Our consigners absolutely ❤️ this “problem” when we sell their things for them!!! It’s a great “problem” for a store
like ours to have and why we are always accepting new consignments daily with no limits! We enter thousands of new things each week!!!

We have created a unique system to help our shoppers too! If we’re out of an item you’re looking for we will create a “want to buy” entry for you and call you once that item is brought in again. Because of this system, we always maintain a list of customers JUST WAITING to buy your consigned items before you even bring them in!!! This is another example of the specialized service we offer at The Homeschool Room.

We get asked often what option we recommend for annual assessment testing. Woodcock Johnson testing is an efficient way to cover the annual testing requirement here in NC for homeschoolers and it's also the perfect place for families to start when pulling their children from a traditional school setting to begin homeschooling. It is helpful to know what level of mastery your child has in multiple subjects and it also helps parents determine what their educational strengths and weakness are. Often children can be above grade level in one subject and below in another. Recognizing this can help avoid a frustrating start to home educating for you and your student.

Need help with curriculum and what teaching approach may work best for your child? These experienced Woodcock Johnson testing administrators partner with The Homeschool Room and can make recommendations for curriculums specifically for your child based on the results.

The Homeschool Room is hiring!

Are you a homeschool momma (past or present) with a flexible schedule that would enjoy serving our community by working a couple of days a week? If the idea of spending some time in our store and getting paid while doing it sounds like fun, here is your invite!

The Homeschool Room offers a unique opportunity to engage & support the educating community in a friendly, encouraging, and fulfilling environment. We believe our store makes a difference in our community: educating is easier, more affordable, and definitely a ton more fun! You do not need to be a curriculum guru to work here, you simply need to be willing to share what you’ve learned in your personal educating journey and those curriculum choices.

Qualifications:
⭐️ Must be available 11:00-5:30 PM two or more days a week (flexible schedule)

⭐️ Personal teaching experience as a homeschool parent

⭐️ A past or present customer or consignor with The Homeschool Room

⭐️ Friendly, able to multitask, detail—oriented, with a conscientious & self motivated worth ethic

We offer great mid-day work hours, a flexible work schedule, in a fast paced work environment with wonderful clientele.

Big News! Want to save money on all your curriculum needs but don’t live nearby? The Homeschool Room NOW OFFERS SHIPPING from “our store to your door”!!! You no longer need to live in the greater Charlotte area to shop with us (or even consign with us).

To check our inventory to see if we have what you are looking for, simply give us a call during business hours. We can ship your order out to you using an economical, media rate offered through the USPS.

While we all agree that in person store visits to explore ALL the treasures is definitely best, sometimes the trip just isn’t possible. Now, we will mail your purchases out to you if that’s what works best. This allows us to serve anyone in the US and not just those who live here in the Charlotte area. You can still choose to pay for items over the phone and we are happy to hold your purchase for you to pick up a later date.

Consigning items can always be done by shipping your items to the store using USPS media rate mail. We do recommend you call and verify we can use your particular items and editions beforehand.

We are excited to help support educators far and wide with this new service.
