Tri County has been serving this community since 1978, and has evolved into the most eclectic and unique shopping experience in Hunt Country.

A magnificent 12,000 square foot, 3-story post and beam store now houses much more than feed. Here you'll find riding and sporting apparel, tack, fashionable town and country ready-to-wear styles, boots, shoes, hats, accessories, pet food, unique gifts from around the world. Friendly, knowledgeable staff make a trip to Tri County even better!

I get lots of questions of what to wear for winter riding and what Riders want for Christmas so here it is:

🩲 Let's start with the un**es. Let's make them long, stretchy, & easy to fit under breeches. I LOVE the ClimateRight base layer from Cuddl Duds. Hands down the best in all aspects! You can find them at Walmart or online. Be aware they come in 3 or 4 warmth options from medium - cold - extreme or something like that. The extreme is VERY warm. Even I who am perpetually cold save these for only the most frigid days. But the lighter two options are everyday items in my wardrobe once the temps start to dip below the 50's (and sometimes 60's). I love that I can stay warm without the bulk of too many layers & they easily slide under my breeches.

The magical heated vest...where should I start? 🤗 You need it. It's everything you want it to be. It is magical, and wonderful, and oh so warm. Put it under a coat on a frigid day & you're muscles will stay nice & loose in the balmy climate it's created. 😄

There are various options for winter riding breeches from fleece lined to the more pricey, but definitely-worth-it-for-the-serious-rider option of the mountain horse insulated riding pants option pictured below.

Let's not forget the importance of the socks you choose!🧦 I love the breathability & fit & warmth of the carhartt boot socks. Wool is the way to go to keep those little piggies nice & warm.

Toe warmers 🦶 & hand warmers 🖐 are also a must - I buy a box of each from BJ's or Costco at the beginning of each cold season. Note: they are NOT all created equal. I prefer the Hot Hands brand. I've been painfully let down by knock off brands or discount buys. I'm pretty sure they should have an expiration date, because they don't seem to work well at all after a certain age.

Of course there are any number of insulated winter riding boots 👢, but be careful as I've seen many with reduced flexibility & chunky tread that can easily get caught in stirrups when riding. Great for barn work, but an absolute no for riding. I just keep an older stretched out pair of boots for winter so I can fit my thick socks & toe warmers inside, or I buy a pair 1 size larger for winter. I really like the flexibility, warmth & price point of my Ovation Moorlands that I get from Another Turn Tack & Apparel.

Carhartt insulated bibs & coveralls. Everyone in the know knows these are an essential item for every true horseperson, farmer, or outdoor enthusiast. They are the way to go to keep warm while prepping for your ride or doing barn chores. I like the bibs so I can choose the jacket weight I want depending on the day & can pull the jacket off when I get warm working, but full disclosure I have always had both on hand.🌡☃️

🧤The right gloves are essential! I have a variety for working versus riding, but for riding I love the warmth & dexterity of my thinsulate SSG riding gloves from Tri-County Feeds, Fashions, Finds. A good pair of insulated work gloves can also be found there or at Tractor Supply.

I love the Back on Track scarf 🧣 & glove liners 🧤 as the ceramic fibers in their gear are designed to reflect your body heat, increasing circulation to keep those muscles warm & loose. (Just don't wear them too long the first few times as you may find yourself a bit sore from the increased circulation if you overdo it.) Also available from Tri-County Feeds, Fashions, Finds .

Top it all off with a good hat that covers your ears, and an ear warmer headband that fits under your helmet or helmet cover that goes over top & you're good to go! 🏇

At the ODHPC annual meeting, prizes from Tri-County Feeds, Fashions, Finds and HORSE N HOUND were awarded. We are so thankful to have these tack shops donate and support our Pony Club.

Liberty Hall hosted a Us Polo Association Middle School tournament in the arena at King Family Vineyards as part of their Poloween event. Out team came up short losing 9-5 but it was fun to see all the kids!
