We are excited to be welcoming back Silverdog Cosplay to IsshoCon 2026!
Silverdog went to her first ever convention in 2010 and was hooked, she already enjoyed anime, manga and gaming but attending her first convention with friends was the best thing she had ever experienced and to see that she wasn’t the only on interested in the same thing she was but there were plenty of others out there as well. Silverdog started to officially cosplay in 2013 and started competing in 2022.
Through the years prior to competing she spent time making cosplay outfits for friends and family. Mostly self-taught through trial-and-error progress over the years of learning, watching YouTube videos and seeking advice from others.
It was her friends and family and even other cosplayers that finally convinced her to try competing for once while attending a convention.
Even though being overly self-conscious with her work and her first time competing she was able to achieve a Best in Show. After that she started to grow more confident in her abilities and skills in making cosplay and flourished even more while still paying close attention to details and challenging herself to learn more skills to add to her wheelhouse to make more extravagant cosplays as well. Each outfit she makes she tries to learn something a little new to add to use or just refining her skills even more as there is always room for improvement and always something to learn.
When Silverdog isn’t at conventions or working on some sort of cosplay projects, she’s spending time with her cats, husband, and little sister that she’s now starting to teach how to sew her own cosplays. She does enjoy reading light novels, manga, comics, watching anime, tv crime shows and of course gaming.
