Fishing opener was a little slow for most on LOTW it seems. We did manage to fill the cooler both days for dinner, but it was a grind. A few big fish were caught in the boat. A 28.25 and a 27.25 with lots of a lot fish between 20-23.

Did a lot of testing of some jigs this weekend. I’m really happy with the results. I’ve got a few things I’ll tweak with some of the tungsten jigs. I used a lot of lead, I didn’t have heavy enough tungsten jigs painted up to stay down in the river.

It’s fishing opener in Minnesota! Good luck to all the anglers hitting the water. It’s looking like it’s going to be a nice day, just a bit cold.

Here’s some big candy for fun. I had a limited amount of larger jigs ordered to make these. Lead, I can make in most any size you want.

I worked on larger open water pricing on the way up. This is really tough. I’m stuck, I’m not sure what to do. Tungsten may have to be something that fluctuates prices for the larger jigs. Lead is alot easier.

Tungsten prices continue on an upward trend that really makes me wonder what’s going to happen. About a year ago I could get a 1oz blank for under $2 unpainted. That’s before I add any of my work to it. Well after 8 months it was up to $6 and now 3 months after that it’s just under $10. They’ve almost doubled in 3 months. There’s going to be more thought out into those.

We know we’ve been a little quiet on here lately, but it’s only because we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes. We haven’t forgotten about any of you—your support means everything to us. We’ve been putting in the time to build up new inventory, dial in some exciting jig designs, and building our website to make things even better and easier for you. Big things are coming soon, and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on. Stay tuned!

I don’t have prices figured out on these yet, as there will be many sizes available as well as lead or tungsten. Things may be a bit slow going as we transition to our first year selling larger open water jigs.

We will be offering them in any of our current patterns, as well as lots of new ideas I have that I’ll be putting together.

I’ve been working out of state for the past 8 weeks so it makes things a bit tough for the time being. Limited time home on the weekend is tough.

We’ve been working lately on the website as well as starting with larger open water stuff in lead and tungsten. I will have almost any size from 1/16 ounce all the way up to 1 ounce. It’s taking me a bit longer than expected because I’ve been working out of state in Iowa for the past seven weeks or so and figuring out pricing on tungsten jigs right now in larger sizes is pretty tough because the prices are constantly on the rise. I haven’t come up with hard prices on those yet just because of that. Those might be something that I have to adjust my numbers on fairly regularly.

Remember, a lot of people really like using smaller tungsten jigs for open water under a bobber for panfish. I do it every year with a high success rate.

For tungsten and lead open water jigs, I think making large quantities in those will be hard. If you’d like to order a certain size in either lead or tungsten in any patterns I make you can msg me and start an order with me.

I’ve been a little bit slow over the past week. I’m getting up some of my new open water tungsten and lead jigs. I’m reworking a few different things on how I do my process to make things a little bit easier for the larger stuff. I’m also working out of state right now during the week so I should’ve actually been in bed about two weeks ago because I have to leave at 2 AM to make my drive.

I’m bringing a bunch of stuff with me so I can continue working out of the hotel but I’m not gonna bring everything it’s just gonna be a limited amount of stuff just to make certain things that I need to get caught up on.

I started pouring some new lead open water jigs. I accidentally ordered the wrong size hooks for a few of them so hopefully those show up later this week so I can pour a bunch more. These will all have a wire keeper.

Looks like I’m gonna be going out of state for work for the next couple weeks so obviously my time at home during the week will be nonexistent, but I will be back on the weekends to work on things. I may try to bring some stuff with me to my hotel room, but that also sounds like quite a task.
