SKATEBOARDING, footwear, apparel, service Jamestown Skate Products is a skateboard company located in Jamestown, New York.
Located in the heart of Downtown Jamestown, JSP is surrounded by really fun street skating, and crazy hill bombs. We also have an indoor bowl & ever growing street course located above the shop.
Four years ago we purchased a 20,000 square foot vacant building in downtown Jamestown. With all this empty space, we didn't even know where to start this project. Luckily, our good friend Andy D donated his mini ramp to us, so that got us started. Once the mini was assembled, we started building corners for the bowl, and building out the storefront downstairs
Eventually, we moved our store into one of the vacant storefronts on the first floor, and finished the bowl upstairs. Now we are in the process of expanding our street course. We are hoping to eventually have the bowl, street course, and mini ramp. We have a wide variety of skaters/individuals who frequent our facility, but EVERYONE is always welcome.

INDUSTRY NITE! Save the date! As most of you know, not much goes on Downtown JTNY on Mondays, so we decided give y’all something to do! Live music by the vvonderful and local legends HOT AT BATS. There’ll be vinyl, repurposed skateboard goods, photos, paintings and more for sale. The Sprinkle Cone will be open and scooping for you all evening. WOW! What a CREW and what a SURPRISE! We’ve all been watching Schmitty’s videos on Thrasher since 1998, and it sure is an honor that our favorite skateboard podcast gave us the 2021 Skate Shop of the Year award. It’s that time of the year again! KING XIII is this Saturday, October 30. Will keep the CROWN or we will he pass it on? Regardless, it’s going to be a WILDLY fun night as always! Winner gets the SWORD, the CASH, and their name on the infamous WALL of KINGS. Contest starts at 3 and goes till it’s over. There will be great food, ice cream, beverages and a costume contest so make sure to dress up! and myself will be spinning records late into the night for the after party.
As some of you may know, we are about to start a new concrete skate setup in our main garage, so we are taking the mini ramp down. Rumor has it there will be a late night jam on the mini after the main contest is over, to give it a proper send-off! JSP Class Field Trip to Buffalo yesterday was one for the books! Perfect weather allowed for us to hit three skateparks with a special lunch at Phatman Boardshop. Best trip yet with these rippers! It is just so great to watch their skills progress and their friendships grow over the years of them skating together.

Had the pleasure of hosting some really great humans over the past ten days. It was inspiring watching these rippers work as a team, doing whatever it takes to make the shot happen. They ride their snowborts in ways I never imagined on features all around our beautiful little town. Big thanks to the only Bryden I know for bringing and to JTNY! Two years ago, about this time of year, my son Bannon and I went downtown to Jamestown Skate Products to buy, yet another skateboard.
While there, the owner Pete Scheira, who customized skateboards for Bannon from the time he was a little boy, told us about a new local skatepark being built as he pulled out a paper rendering of it.
Although the design looked interesting and the idea was exciting, we couldn’t have imagined that it would be transformed into the spectacular JTNY Power House Skate Park.
What none of us could have also imagined is that Bannon wouldn’t be here physically to see it come to fruition . . . and to ride it.
Having said this, my family and I are so thankful to the City of Jamestown (especially Mayor Eddie Sundquist, Jeff Lehman and Dan Stone) for meeting with us, working with us, and allowing us to commemorate Bannon, as well as the charity that I founded in his memory: B.E. Strong 716.
For those of you who may not know, B.E. Strong is now an official 501(3)(c) nonprofit created less than a year ago. It has two missions: 1) to make the 716 community stronger –one donation at a time–by giving to people and causes that would have mattered to my son and 2) to help others who are grieving.
Thanks to the generosity of so many people both near and far, our charity has been able to give to organizations and dozens of families in need, in particular, others who have faced immense tragedies, including the Buffalo community near Tops (all of which we detail on our page).
In addition, B.E. Strong 716 was able to give something very special to the new skate park: two tables and three benches memorializing not just our charity, but also Bannon, who was a lifelong skateboarder.
So now that the park is open, I know that alongside these benches, he will be here--IN SPIRIT--freely, happily, with the wind in his hair and a smile on his face--much like all skateboarders have when skateboarding, which in the words of Tony Hawk, “ . . . is as much of a sport, as a lifestyle and an art form.”
Now, with this magnificent new facility, B.E. Strong 716 encourages everyone to be SAFE (we distributed free safety tip flyers at the grand opening) and have FUN as Jamestown watches this “art” come to life, now and for years to come.

Members of the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon along with Pete Scheira of Jamestown Skate Products are pictured wishing Damian North a happy birthday. Members of the Second Platoon learned that Damian was into BMX biking and wanted to ride the new park. A joint effort resulted in getting Damian a suitable bike from Empire BMX.
