Soon it was clear that she possessed a true gift. She has earned many distinct honors during her journey. Raginae’s strong academics and musical talent led to a full scholarship and a Master of Arts Degree in Piano Pedagogy and Performance. Even though Raginae is classically trained, she has extensive experience teaching diverse styles of music including jazz and pop. She also takes students of al
l ages and abilities. She always involves the student in the choice of the composition so they feel connected to the piece and be more motivated to practice it. Technique and musicianship will follow if the player enjoys what they are playing. The benefits of studying the piano are far reaching. Children that study a musical instrument test higher on standardized test, like the SAT, than their non-musical counterparts. Adults who study an instrument especially the piano, can also enjoy the benefits of increased brain function. Of course there is the stress relieving effects of playing the instrument as well! With a career of performance and teaching that spans over two decades. She released four CD’s of diverse styles, and performs frequently at The Riley Hospital for Children, the IUPUI Cancer Pavilion, Noble of Indiana, and other not for profit such as Ambassadors for Children. Raginae has also had the privilege to perform at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Scottish Rite Cathedral, Stutz Building, American Caberet Theatre, Broadmoor Country Club, Meridian Hills Country Club and the home of Christel De Hahn.
