Meet Sabrina of Marie + Rae Boutique — a Franklin Street story that started with a walk past a storefront and ended with a signed lease less than 24 hours later. 💛

Three years in, Marie + Rae has become a downtown anchor: trendy-to-timeless women's clothing, the only Barbour stockist in Harford County, and a team that genuinely loves styling people who walk through the door.

Sabrina also co-hosts some of our favorite Franklin Street community events with her neighbor Megan from Blue Heron Gifts & Boutique — and the Mother's Day Market kicks off the season THIS SATURDAY, May 9th. 🌷

Megan Moore Hubbs bought the shop at 20, kept it open through COVID, and built it into one of the go-to gift spots in HdG. The whole operation runs on family.

We're starting something new.

ShopHDG is launching a series of featured stories about the people behind the businesses in downtown Havre de Grace. Not ads. Not listings. Real stories about why these shops exist and what makes them worth visiting.

First up: JoRetro at 137 N. Washington St.

Jolene Forrester built a vintage Pyrex shop that draws collectors from across the country. Country Living just featured her as their expert on the most valuable Pyrex pieces you can own. And this April, she's hosting the 10th anniversary of Pyrex & Vintage Fest right here in HdG.

We cannot wait to paint downtown Havre de Grace pink with you. Here’s your simple, step-by-step guide so you don’t miss a thing:

Pick up your official participant sheet at the Visitor’s Center or any downtown store.
This sheet is your:
• Event guide for the day
• Entry form for the Hot Cocoa Challenge
• Entry form for the Shopping Sweepstakes

Turn it in at the end of the day at the Visitor’s Center or Joe’s Mercantile.

Stroll through downtown and spot the beautiful Valentine hearts displayed in shop windows along:

• Washington Street
• St. John Street
• Franklin Street
• Union Street
• Olivia’s Nutrition on Juniata

They are colorful, joyful, and filled with love from our community.
