May 6th 6:30 until 9:30 pm and Saturday May 7th and Sunday May 8th, from 1pm -4pm both days. Information from Richard Trice- “Within nature, in the many forms of light and shadow we sense something bigger and vaster than ourselves. Over many years, with photography I have attempted to capture these moments in nature which reveal this eternity. In some cases, I rearrange several of these photos together to create another different image which is familiar. Although familiar, the image is at the same time, unfamiliar. This causes a positive leap of our imagination My purpose here is to explore visual associations which help us to think in a more intuitive manner. In a way, encouraging the creative problem-solving capacity of our innate sense of wonder. Realistic and surrealistic imagery. Looking at many of these images together is a grand and joyful experience”.

We finished the required end-of-year inventory counting, in spite of Cindy’s impaired vision caused by a recent stroke in her right eye! And thanks to the efforts of her husband Dave and artist friends, Cris Calliham Soth, Bill Munson and more. Many grateful thanks to all of them.
Store reopens today! Back to normal hours: Wednesday/Thursday/Friday from 1:00-5:00, and Saturdays noon to 4:00.
While we don’t require the wearing of face coverings, we recommend them to hopefully slow down the Omicron spread and help out our medical people who are over-worked. Much love to all in the new year (wishing for a more “normal” year for everyone)! ❤️🎨⛄️🎼

Press Release: Artists Works in Art Installation can be Acquired

The Fairfield Art Association announces this Friday September 3 is the last chance to acquire an original art piece from its downtown summer art installation. 22 artists created 18 art works with the theme "2020 in 2021 - A Better View", and they are displayed in the garden nodes around the square and up North Main Street.

This annual art installation is a fundraiser for the FAA and helps support its many art projects, exhibits and events, along with 50% of proceeds going to the artists. This year's art would be a nice addition and conversation piece to a garden, outside wall or even in a home. There are a variety of colors used and several with reflective materials.

Bidding by silent auction is taking place now in the Main Gallery area at the FA&CC, with bid sheets and photos of each pieces. Bids can also be emailed to [email protected] or text 641-919-2121 until 8:30 PM this Friday. Bidding starts at $100 for each.

Artists participating include: Curt Swarm, Colleen Matson, Jewell McDonald, Cindy Ballou, Danielle Shier, Cris Soth, Joey Katz, Anne Walton, Pam Lander, Mendy McAdams, Mike Pech, Tree Neal, Axis Vision, David Kraemer, Kathy Tollenaere, Suzan Kessel, Meghan Kurth, Josie & Lyle Hannes, Freya Gilrain & Samuel Scott, Wendy Stegall.
