Happy Earth Day!

Today we celebrate and give thanks to our majestic and mighty ‘‘Spaceship Earth” for provisioning us with lifetimes of sustenance and wonder. We all know that the existence of our favorite treat, along with everything else we love, relies on a healthy planet. That we figured out how to transform the bitter seeds of a tropical cacao fruit into chocolate by careful cultivation, fermentation, drying, sorting, roasting, winnowing, refining, conching, tempering and molding seems almost magical. How fortunate are we, mere human-auts floating in space, that our planet provides the material and our brains invent the means to create such deliciousness?

We’re a tiny speck in the galaxy of chocolate, true, but we’re committed to being conscientious stewards of the human and planetary resources that pass through our hands at Grocer’s Daughter Chocolate.
