Announcing my first Mini Quilting Retreat!! We will meet in fabulous Floyd, VA for lunch and a bit of fabric shopping at Schoolhouse Fabrics, then on to the Jacksonville Center for the Arts for the Retreat!

So... After having only two walk-in customers (as opposed to long time clients) in two weeks, and one of them wanting directions to Hanging Rock State Park, I've decided to move my quilting studio home and stop wasting money on a brick and mortar shop.

That being said, there's some things that need a home. I've got:

Three Roly chairs,
A heavy duty table with leaf,
An office credenza with file drawers,
A smallish desk,
A vintage three tiered rolling cart,
A clothing steamer,
Lots of peg board hooks

I haven't posted anything in awhile. I've been busy doing the things. Anyway, after lots of thinking and praying and grumbling and such, I've decided to move operations to my home. No more rent. One electric bill. No water bill. Thread Bear will officially go into permanent hibernation October 31, however I will continue long-arm quilting, making custom quilts, designing and making quilts for sale and teaching.

I am currently focusing on quilting the many quilt tops in my queue, and preparing for an exhibit in the Apple Gallery at the Stokes County Arts Council. I also hope to have more time to get my blog up and running, and for sewing dance wear and reenactment wear.

Thank you, all who have stood by me and supported me over the past four years. Words cannot express how much you all mean to me.

And now.....On to new adventures!

For sale. Pre- 1960 Montgomery Ward electric "portable" sewing machine. Can be installed in a cabinet. Great for heavy fabrics, multiple thicknesses and piecing. Runs well. $40. Message me if interested.

So, I haven't posted anything here in awhile. I've been creating! Just a quick note to let you know that I won't be there today. I will be back on Monday (I know...). There are so many projects to complete! Have a safe relaxing Memorial Day, and please be sure to remember why we observe this day.
