Watermelon tourmaline slices are my favorite, and when my garden started blooming this year I felt inspired to snip this latest strand, From these wondrous stones, I created new one-of-a-kind pieces. You will also find some favorite stones I have been saving in my studio.
One of my happy places is when I am at my workbench rifling through stones and finding the perfect piece to complete a design. I love being reminded of what I saw in a gem the day I first picked it out.

This stone is reminiscent of an aqua vintage Ford pick up truck I have always wanted. 🛻 You know the one - the one that has a little rust on it, a huge cab and it represents a lifestyle of days gone by. There is a big part of me that wants to live on a large piece of property with a creek, a clothesline with sheets hanging and lots of dogs running around. . . this necklace has all that rustic energy in it. . . a little piece of a me.

Heather was the first person to tell me that my work has meaning beyond the surface. The connection that my collectors make with my jewelry is humbling. I am always so happy to hear the meaning in my jewelry through your stories!

During my central Illinois tour last week, I spent some time at while Pam chose a lovely collection of pieces from both my new Joy Collection as well as prior collections.
Stop in if you are near and support a great store . . . the owners and I have had lots of laughs over the last 30 years (they even set me up with my partner Greg 20 plus years ago). Being part of their community brings me joy!!

Yesterday was a great start for BAM! Boneyard Arts Market in Lincoln Square. I had so much fun sharing my new Joy Collection.
I had the luxury of time to take a walk in the woods and the parks of Urbana before the show, and the colors and textures of new growth were spectacular! I felt as though they were changing before my eyes!!

It’s Moms Weekend at U of I, and I hope you surprise me if you are here from another location!!
I came early to poke around town, and Urbana is popping with color and flowers and excitement - I enjoyed a long walk in my old neighborhood from my college days. Upon seeing a grouping of dorms, I remembered that I was down here for the first time in 1980 for Moms Weekend to visit my oldest brother! That is a 44 year long history with Urbana 🤩
All that nostalgia and my connection to this town makes me happy - it brings me joy - stop by the market this weekend and see my new collection in person, and maybe bring home a bit of joy with you!

I know, right? These banded opals stopped me in my tracks when searching for new stones in Tucson this year. They are a naturally occurring combination of Opal, chalcedony and blue lace agate.
I will have a lovely selection of designs made from this stone (in other shapes too) as I debut my Joy Collection at BAM! in Urbana this Friday (4-8) and Saturday (10-5).

“What is it!?!” came out of my mouth when seeing this stone for the first time in Tucson - it is opal, agate and chalcedony all in one stone. . . this banded opal fills me with joy, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
It is one of the highlights my new collection which will be coming online next month.

Recently I was inspired while taking stock of my gems and getting ready for the Tucson Gem Show. I realized just how many small bags of beautiful stones I had with only a few left, and how fun it would be to create pieces with those beads I was saving for “just the right thing." Using the last treasured bead from a strand, or opening a little bag of citrine, garnet, and hessonite—to create a one-of-a-kind piece—is how this new collection came to be.
The collection name, Bubble & Squeak, is a term I learned while studying abroad in England back in the 80s. While it was originally Cockney slang for leftovers, in our house it has come to mean a creative and delicious meal made by combining any bits from the fridge. I look forward to sharing this newly inspired collection with you.
