Our mission is to provide a venue where local farmers, producers, and artisans join together to provide a variety of high quality, farm fresh produce and related products to the Charlotte community. Our "growers only" approach encourages direct communication between the farmer and the consumer as well as foster opportunities for social gatherings while promoting nutritious food choices.

Evan’s Family Farms with pastured meats and eggs, Orrman’s Cheese, Backyard Sprouts, Unleashed by Kelley with handmade dig treats and doggie bandanas, Brewington Farm’s Organic Produce, and Local Loaf with coffee, fresh pastries, bagels, gourmet treats, and fresh bread and English muffins.

We just got the news that are now offering pre-ordering for pickup! If you order is in by Wednesday, they will have your pie ready for you to pickup at any time between 9-12 every Saturday at the market. This way you do not need to wonder if they might be sold out plus new customers will get 15% off on their first order. So send them an email and get your order in for next week!

Reposting with a thank you! The attendance at the market has increased greatly. This has enabled us to welcome new vendors. Evan’s Family Farms has joined us with a full menu of local raised and grazed chicken, beef, pork, and lamb! They also have eggs! Please spread the word and help us continue to bring local food into our neighborhood. Sharing this post raised awareness and that all it takes to help! Thanks!
We are reaching out to the community for support. We feel it’s important to have fresh, local, healthy food that’s farm-fresh right to the community. Based on the level of market attendance, it’s been hard to keep and/or attract new vendors. We’ve added fresh produce, humanely raised meats, sprouts, lemonade, magpies, and have Local Loaf - NoDa at the market with coffee, bagels, and morning goodies. Long term vendors such as Orrman’s Cheese, Greeneman Farms, and Brasington Farms remain a staple. We come to you asking for your weekly support of these great vendors. The market ultimately with flourish or perish based on community interest and support. These vendors work so hard to bring their products to our neighborhood each week. Please give them your support. Remember yesterday's post about your garnish being the most nutrient-dense thing on your plate?? (*hint* microgreens!)
Think of it this way - you'd have to eat 1 & 1/2 POUNDS of broccoli to get the sulforaphane content in just 1 ounce of broccoli sprouts!!
When I heard that I first thought: I’ve never heard of sulforaphane, why does it matter?
It turns out it’s a phytonutrient found in cruciferous veggies (cauliflower, brussels sprouts, cabbage, etc). It has anti-viral properties to help reduce virus load on the body and recover faster from sickness, it boosts the immune system because it’s loaded with antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, it helps with digestion and soreness because of its anti-inflammatory abilities, and even protects skin from UV damage!
You can definitely get them at your local grocery store OR you can find them locally from my friends at Backyard Sprouts. They grow to order for chefs but are also at the NoDa Farmers Market and will soon provide a delivery option!
