5 ways you can shop small this holiday season that AREN’T Christmas gifts. 🎁
1. You can buy your holiday outfits from someone local. If you’re like me, you buy a new dress for Christmas and New Year’s Eve every year. This year, try checking out some local boutiques or second hand vendors. You’ll be supporting a local business and finding something more unique and likely better quality, too!
2. Holiday party accessories! 👜 Same goes for your jewelry, shoes, purses, etc. that you’re looking to freshen up for holiday parties. Grab something a little out of your comfort zone for a conversation starter!
3. Holiday cards 💌 if you like to send out yearly cards, trying buying your cards from a local artist! Handmade cards tend to be made on nicer paper and have more character. Also you can find some cute Charlotte themed ones which would be perfect for mailing to loved ones who live far away!
4. Cold / flu remedies. 🤧 Farmers markets and sometimes pop ups can be a great place to find natural products, and a lot of times some great cold remedies. For example, elderberry syrup, shower soothers, or essential oils.
5. Holiday pictures. 📸 Hiring a local photographer is a great way to support a small business while also gaining some beautiful memories that will last a lifetime!
6. Catering 🍰🥙🥖 I’m a typical Type A perfectionist and I’ve always felt like I was a failure if I couldn’t bake the most perfect pastry or dinner that Betty Crocker herself would be amazed by for holiday events. But this year I’ve tried to give myself a little more grace with this since I’ve been so busy. An easy and delicious way to solve this is by catering or picking up desserts from a local restaurant / bakery.
