I'll update this list weekly to highlight the books that deserve recognition but aren't acknowledged by the endless bestseller lists.

My favorite week of the year: Banned Book Week! All the best books are the banned ones, let's celebrate them! This list tells me our country is: racist, homophobic, transphobic, and unwilling to talk about sexual violence and mental health. That's not a country I want to live in. I celebrate everyone and every book that is working towards changing that!

It begins! I’m in the *very* beginning stages of starting a bookstore called Lucky Cloud Books! It’s named after a song by Arthur Russell, a fav musician of mine who died from AIDS in 1992. There will be a strong focus on q***r/trans and BIPOC writers and books in translation, especially those from small presses. New and used! It’ll start as a pop-up store and evolve into who knows what! Maybe a brick and mortar store, maybe a bookmobile. This has been my greatest dream and I’m inching closer to it.
