National Poinsettia Day | As the Legend of the Poinsettia goes, a poor little girl in Mexico was in despair because she had no gift to present at her church’s nativity scene for Jesus’ birthday. When an angel appeared and told the child the most important thing was to give a gift with love, she gathered weeds from the side of the road to place in the manger. Miraculously, the weeds transformed and bloomed into the most gorgeous, red, star-shaped flower the little girl had ever seen – the Flower of the Holy Night we know today as Poinsettia.

Keep your tree beautiful & fresh all through December with these care tips:
1. Plan to place your tree away from the dry, blowing air of heating vents.
2. Give your tree a fresh cut by removing the bottom 1-2 inches of the trunk before placing it into the tree stand (we do this for you when you purchase from Petitti’s!).
3. Mix Prolong® Tree Preservative into the water the first time you fill the tree stand to help your tree absorb more water and to keep needles fresher, longer.
4. Spray your tree one time with Bonide Wilt Stop® to seal in moisture.
5. Light your tree with LEDs because they run 20% cooler than incandescent lights.
6. Maintain water at all times so that the cut end of the trunk is always covered.
7. Mist your tree with water daily or occasionally to maximize fragrance!

Thank you Petitti Garden Center. In spring of 2017, the city was completely re-surfacing the road next to our house. They informed us with only a one day notice that they would be ripping out our five foot high hedges to do the road and replace water lines. We had one weekend to save our bushes. We called Angelo's radio show on Saturday morning. He advised us that it wasn't a good time of year to transplant Privet bushes, but he understood we had to do something to save them. We rented a track hoe and followed his instructions paying attention to detail. Theses pictures show the before and after. As you can see, three years later they are thriving. We were even able to thin out the old hedge row while transplanting them into a ditch six feet inward towards the house. We used the extra hedges to lengthen the row fifty extra feet into the back yard. Thank you Angelo!
How do I get on the mailing list/subscription for the Gardening with Angelo magazine?
Bought almost everything at Petitti's in Boardman. Lots of compliments on my planters. The flowers still look beautiful, especially the huge multicolored mum.
Called Bainbridge store to order a tree for my in honor of my uncle who recently passed away. Antwain took VERY good care of us. He chose a beautiful tree that my Aunt and Cousin loved and delivered it on the day/time he promised. He also coordinated a delivery even though the store doesn't currently provide that service due to covid. All around great experience! Petitti is fortunate to have him on their team!
My hanging tomato’s from Mothers Day are still producing 😳...
So disappointed in my plants again this year....the tags on 3 tomato types I bought are NOT what the tag says they should be and neither are 2 of my peppers. Two years in a row now; will make my purchases elsewhere next year. Has anyone else had this problem?
My plant that died. Purchased in June and had to have dug up to return and was told I get a gift card, but no warranty if I purchase a replacement.
I'm very disappointed in Petitti 's. I had to return a bush I purchased in June that was dieing. I brought pictures and receipt the 1st time and was told I had to bring it in. I had to ask someone to plant it originally, then get someone to dig up for me. Upon returning it, I was told I could only get a gift card, but anything I purchased with it to replace, would not be warranted. Very poor customer service. I have spent lots of money here and I am not pleased. Unfortunately, I have to replace it with something since I have a big hole in my landscape. I won't but it here. Maybe switch nurseries.
These bushes need to be cut in half, what would be the proper time of year to do that and how would I do that to get them to green back in a short time. Thanks in advance.
