We are hoping to raise some extra funds to help us through the lean times of winter. If you can, please consider donating a little something to Wolf Park. Big Thanks from Mr. Máni!

Just wanted to through out a fun photo taken on February 22, 2022. Yes, 2-22-22 (just happens to also be a Tuesday). Of course I had to take this at 10:22 pm which on a 24 hour clock is 22:22 so the time stamp of this photo can be written as 222222222.

Just thought I would share a couple photos I took the other day. We had a pretty sunset, complete with an interesting example of a sundog right after the sun dipped below the horizon. And then there is Niko posing nicely as always.

We have a wonderful snowfall during our weekly Howl Night program at Wolf Park. Wolves tend not to howl much during a storm, but they do pose well. So here is Niko posing nicely in the snow.

Full wolf moon of 2021. It is a sequence I was able to take of the moon rising over Wolf Park as it ascended through the trees and into the clouds.

Sparrow howls out the ‘Year That Shall Not be Mentioned’

12/26/2020

Spent some time enjoying the wolves this Christmas Day. Here is a little video I caught with my phone of Máni and Niko howling behind the island.

I must apologize for the lack of content this year. It's been a difficult year for all of us. Wolf Park is hanging in there, and thank all of you who have given your support. For those who might be interested in becoming a member, or better, sponsoring one of our animals check out: https://wolfpark.org/support/memberships/

For those who are thinking about a sponsorship, I thought I would give a tiny incentive to anybody interested in sponsoring one of our animals: a 5x7 matted print of the animal you chose to sponsor. Just let me know if you can do that, and maybe send the office a note ([email protected]), and I'll make sure the print is sent with your sponsorship packet.

Although this year I had little time to actually spend on the computer, I still took many thousands of photos. I hope to be able to resume posting on a more regular basis this winter and beyond. That being said, here is a fun one of Aspen enjoying time with his sister, Sparrow that I took on November 30 of this year.

Merry Christmas Everybody!

Today was February 20, 2020. I like fun dates (and associated fun timestamps) so at 8:20 pm (2020 EST) I decided to take some night photos through the observation room window. Aspen and Mani cooperated so hear they are, two wolves at 2020 02 20 2020...

Sorry I have been so negligent in posting these past few months. I have just been so busy working at Wolf Park that I have not been able to do much on the computer. Well, I have been quite actively working on photos, just not posting much.

I hope to get back on track and start posting more, but for now here are a couple little photos I took with a brand new toy. Yea, I upgraded my camera to the 1D X mk III which is phenomenal!

The photo of Niko is the very first photo I took with the new camera. I always try to get a decent photo for the first photo just for fun. February 17 was fairly dark and gloomy so this was with an ISO of 4000 as I needless had an exposure of 1/1250 at f8 which was way overkill for a photo of a wolf just standing there -- but I wanted to see what it would look like with a moderately high ISO. There is some noise of course, but it's not all that bad.

Now the Khewa photo is noisy, soft and not all that great, but it is at an ISO of 102,400!!! My other cameras could shoot at that high ISO, but produced pretty useless results. And although noisy, this is not all that bad! I'll have to play some more with the even high settings when I have a chance.

Wolf Park's photo sessions are always GREAT FUN. You do not need to be a professional photographer and any camera will do, but a longer focal length lens is highly recommended for the best photos. Space is limited so don't wait too long to sign up!
