Say hello to, Chester, the newest addition to our family. AND say hello to my latest quilty make, the by .

I have actually had this quilt finished for some time, but have not been inspired with any photoshoot ideas. Enter new puppy. He loves this quilt as much as I do!

As with my last make, I used the throw size layout (4x4 blocks), but at half scale to make it baby size. I love the graphic quality of her designs, and the more blocks the better, I’ve just been preferring a smaller scale these days.

One more shot of this quilt, because I mean, that’s why I paid for the extra checked bag right? To get ALL the shots?

Turns out it was a little more challenging to get the “quilt with beautiful desert vista” shots that I had imagined. I hadn’t factored in the part about hiking long distances, up high elevations, with a heavy quilt in the desert heat. So I settled for a few roadside turnouts.

But I also learned that while camping in a van the desert gets very very cold at night. So I was thrilled to have this monster to keep me warm.

Who hides behind a baby quilt better? My 6’-5” quilt model, or my 5’-2” self?! Surprisingly pretty comparable results 🤣

This is the I tested for . I made the baby size, though with one extra block so I could make mine a square - 5x5 blocks instead of 4x6 blocks.

This wasn’t my first time sewing curves, though I will say it was my first successful attempt. After 100 curves and resigning myself to using lots of pins, it really wasn’t so bad!

If you’ve been hesitant to try sewing curves, the Bexford is a great place to start and the pattern is out today!! ✨✨

I haven’t added a stitch since I lasted posted. But I decided rather quickly that my Wiksten Unfolding Jacket was complete and began the breaking in process (morning chores in the garden) immediately. I’ve only now stopped to take some photos. (Gotta get it in before the end of Me made May, right?!)

I love it. It’s exactly what I hoped it would be, the perfect summer layer. My only regret is not leaving the finished seems exposed on the outside of the jacket.

Also, I know I’ve declared it finished, but if I can find some Pearl Cotton thread to match the neon selvage I’m definitely going to add a few more stitches on the star. 🌟💙🩵

I woke up this morning and decided to cut into the *good* fabric 💙

Actually, I woke up yesterday morning, decided to cut into the *good* fabric, and spent the rest of the day planing what block to make, what size to make the block , what scrap should I use for each bit, etc. Then I woke up this morning, changed my mind twice, made a test block, and THEN cut into the *good* fabric.

But gosh did it feel good. And I only made one cut that I regret. I’m gonna need some more scrap bundles, stat!

I decided I wasn’t going to participate this year. Even when I’ve tried in the past, a daily photo and post ends up being too much for me to keep up with. But that doesn’t mean I’m not wearing my me mades!

We went out last weekend to take a couple quilt photos and I realized I’d never officially shared my mini back patch jacket. So we snapped a couple pics.

Worn here with my and not pictured one of my many Grainline Willow tanks. Honestly, this pretty much sums up my spring me made wardrobe: some version of an elastic waist pant, a willow tank, and a jacket.

Actually I have a couple more jackets in need of a back patch. What’s your favorite block or mini quilt to adorn your back with?

I don’t know how you all manage to pack full sized quilts in your suitcases to take to remote locations for impromptu quilt photo shoots! This little mini was the only thing I could fit in my carryon and that’s only because it also doubled as my road trip activity as we explored greater Seattle.

As you can see I’ve still got a bit more stitching to do, but I couldn’t help snapping a few (haha - few hundred?) shots while we were and had a bit of sun.

I’ll share more about this little guy and it’s origins soon!

I love my Backcountry Star Quilt. The skinny strip pieced stars remind me of fluffy spring flowers. But I also love the back of my . I chose a Heather Ross print called Fairy House to ensure the colors would coordinate with the Ruby and Bee solids on the front and also just because I wanted more yellow! So, technically I didn’t find a mural to match my quilt top (per my unofficial quilty New Year’s resolution), but I do think it went quite well with this natural brick.

The throw size Kelimi Quilt is on the larger side as far as throws go. 480 half square triangles if you’re counting. But that is exactly what was requested by my on the taller side quilt model. This one’s for him!

The sun finally came out so I was able to get a shot of my *quilted* Booths Corner Quilt.

I’m not calling it finished just yet, though it’s been hanging out on my couch in this state for the last couple weeks. I’d really like to add another round or two of hand quilting to get it a little more dense, but I’m having trouble deciding on where to add it. So, for the meantime let’s enjoy her as is.

Do you have any quilting plans this weekend? If not, might I suggest the Booths Corner? You could have yourself a cute top come Monday! Check out ’s latest post for some inspiration ✨✨

Searching for the perfect patterns to kick off the New Year? Look no further!

’s is the perfect fit. This pattern is very straight forward (perfect for a beginner or those you, like me, who are still recovering from the holiday crazies), but packs a powerful graphic punch that will leave you feeling very pleased with your handiwork; starting the New year off on the right foot! Available today 💙🌟✨

I took a photo of this mural the other day and just so happen to later see it on my roll right next to a photo of my quilt still in the design board and I could not believe how perfectly they matched. I had to go back once the top was done to document it. And am wondering now if I should challenge myself to find a mural to match every quilt for 2023 🤔

Carved out a little me time this past weekend and put together this quilt top, ’s next pattern . It was the perfect combination of interesting and quick to make for a really satisfying weekend sew. I’m hoping to get it quilted by Christmas (if my backing shows up in time it will be a true miracle) and am now dubbing it my Blue Christmas quilt. 💙

Did it take me the entire week to get my blocks sewn together? No, thank you very much, it did not. But did it take me the rest of the week to get it pressed? Why yes, yes it did.

But she’s done! And she’s beautiful. AND I’ve already decided on my backing and binding. Win! Win! Win!

Yay! Thank you for hosting the ! It was just what I needed to get my creative juices really flowing again and I am very excited about some upcoming projects I’ve already started cutting on. (But I promise, this Archie top is not destined for the WIP pile)!

The inside-out Summer Haze quilt is currently settling in to its forever home which means I can now share it here with you!

My idea to create an inverse of occurred to me about a year ago, but I finally decided to take on the challenge while looking for a pattern to gift for a dear friends wedding anniversary.

I modified the pattern slightly, using the queen sized block layout, but with smaller squares. I think this quilt looks better the bigger it gets, but didn’t want to tackle such a large quilt. The smaller units brought it back down to a manageable throw size 😊

Also, as I do whenever possible, I converted all rectangles to squares in order to web piece - my favorite!

Happy 10 year Anniversary Holly + Kenny! 💖✨

If you love star quilts (like me), but are looking for a quick project this summer (also me) that will still make a big impact (isn’t everyone?), then this is your pattern!! ’s Cabin Star sews up surprisingly quickly yet still carries the punch of of some of her more intricate patterns. I encourage you to take a look at because really, I think the bigger the better with this one.

Please indulge me with one more Imogene shot, before I switch gears, to yes, another new pattern!

We are now almost three months into this vagabond life we are living and while I am enjoying it very much, there is one thing I am missing quite a bit, my fabric stash. I would have LOVED to make a scrappy Imogene.

But often I find when I put some sort of constraint on my creativity the results can be wonderful and new. As such, this quilt held a lot of firsts for me. First time using batik fabrics, first time using variegated thread. It was my first time quilting with the stitch-in-the-ditch method, and my first time making scrappy binding!!

I had hopped to celebrate all these firsts with my first Reel, but after many hours of trying it was determined that I’d hit my firsts limit. So please enjoy one last still of Imogene. ✌🏼

☀️Happy Imogene Quilt Day ☀️

There is so much to say about this quilt, where to begin?!!

This is the Toddler size, omitting the border, which still allowed for a generous baby quilt or wall hanging at 44”x44”.

I followed the 2 color option of the pattern, but used 7 different batik fabrics to create an ombre effect for my medallion. You may also notice I’ve converted all of the background rectangles into 2.5” squares - hellooooo, web piecing! 😎

I could certainly go on, but we’ll leave that for another post.

The Easy V Sweater pattern by is live!

I was so excited about the idea of a V neck yoke sweater and it did not disappoint! I love the slightly off the shoulder and somewhat slouchy fit. And the colorwork pattern is a dream - I didn’t have to catch a single float. Truly, perfection.

And I still have not gotten over this yarn from . I used four colors of Swanky DK. The drape is perfect and the touch of cashmere 👌🏼

Remember that green yarn I had you vote on: bright green or muted green, and it was an absolute tie? Well, I picked a third, darker green with black specks and I am quite happy with it, thank you very much!

My first finish of !

The Willow Tank is the first garment I ever made and quickly became my favorite thing to make. I’ve cropped it, made it a peplum, made it a dress, but my favorite version is a button front.

I sewed this one up in just a couple hours, but in usual fashion it took me many more days to get the buttons sewed on. Looking forward to wearing it as soon as the spring weather returns!

Me Made May!

I came to the realization that if there is going to be any chance of me increasing my participation this May I need to master the art of the self-timer. So here is day one. It took MANY attempts…much practice is needed, but we (yes, a-hem, we!) got there.

Outfit Details: something old + something new. Top is my most loved, most made, most hacked pattern, the ever-versatile by in a boro woven. Bottoms are my latest make (with a second pair already on the cutting table), the by in tencel twill.

Have you mastered the self-timer? And really just the selfie in general? Send me all your tips!

Would you believe I almost didn’t test this pattern because I didn’t think I had time? It’s actually quite laughable! It took me all of an afternoon to cut and piece this baby size. It’s so quick! And very very satisfying. I wish I’d made a throw!

I had this great idea to use command strip hooks to to hang this baby sized quilt on a very textured wall so neither me nor my husband would have to be the main subject of the photo, hiding behind a mini quilt.

Well, it took about 5 seconds to realize that was not going to work out at all. Fortunately he had a great idea to hang it like a banner and I always have a ball of yarn with me…and voila!

Note to self: baby size makes great wall hanging!

Pattern by coming Friday!
