Lest we forget.

When I first moved back to L.A. I rode the bus to work and frequently shared a bus stop with a woman bore these marks.

I was always humbled by the fact that I knew I would never understand the horrors she had lived through.

I've heard it said that to be happy, rejoice in what you have and don't dwell on what you don't.

Today I'm rejoicing in the simplicity of a good salad as I am working on eating better and it's made more joyful with my green pyrex bowl from .

I love making my own dressing and this little thrifted Corelle bowl is the perfect size.

I am gutted that my favorite comedian, Louie Andersen passed away.

I loved his truly gentle nature. He never had to resort to cruelty or profanity to be funny.

He proved on "Baskets" that that not only was he a great comedian, but a serious actor as well. He played Christine Baskets so convincingly without a hint of irony.

For having survived such a difficult childhood himself, he was never bitter and brought so much joy to others.

Rest in peace, dear, sweet Louie. We will miss your smile.
