I started working in bowling centers since I was 18 years old: 7 of them! A country club (not included in the 7) just to check out the machines: preventive maintenance and any repairs needed. And eventually after my working in the bowling centers days were over I did get the Pro Shop with Dave (rip) at Wynnewood Lanes where the snack bar is now on the low side after that moved to the high side at the end of January 2005 but was permanently closed by the end of 2025.

I remember the saying winning never gets old!

delivery is the same when he was in his early 20s

Biggest Bowling Myth You Still Believe 🎳

Bowling’s full of “advice” that gets passed around the alley and sticks for years. Here are the 3 that hold people back:

*1. “Heavier balls hit harder”*
Not really. A 14lb ball with the right speed and entry angle will out-hit a 16lb ball thrown slow. Ball motion and pin carry matter more than weight. Pros often drop weight for control.

*2. “You need a hook to score high”*
Wrong. Spares win leagues, not strikes. A straight shooter who makes 90% of spares will beat a 200-average guy who leaves 3 opens a game. Watch how many pros switch to plastic on the 10-pin.

*3. “The arrows are your target”*
The arrows are a checkpoint, not the target. Your real target is 5-10 feet past them where the ball starts hooking. Aiming only at the arrows is why people miss left and right.

The truth: Bowling is 80% spare shooting, 15% lane play, 5% looking good.

a "Future Success Story"

Sarah, your bowling game is very impressive! Your practice has paid off! You also know your bowling balls as well: You know what ball to use for different lane conditions for your strike shots! And you're an excellent spare shooter! I've been in the Bowling Pro Shop business over 38 years even though the Pro Shop is permanently closed as of the end of last year. My premonition about you is you'll win a minimum of 10 pwba titles! But for you to win a minimum of 10 titles you will need to be on the Professional Women's Bowling Association - PWBA tour full time long term. About your bowling delivery your grip is spot on because your swing is loose. That helps you carry better on your strike shots and you can bowl many games without tiring much because of it!

That's the team I predicted in April (last month)
when the were playing so poorly and I
called it the April curse. I predicted the Phillies
will finish the regular season at 87 and 75 and
my safety net is if they don't win at least 87 games
they'll still be ----->> one of the three wild cards in the
National League! Anyone want to rent my crystal ball?
