Meet Hales Evans, our manager in Vienna!
Beyond being the fearless leader of our Vienna shop, Hales is also our resident artist extraordinaire, lending her artistic touch to bike shoes, frames, and – most notably – nearly every inch of our Vienna shop.
Hales has been working in the cycling industry for nearly 4 years now and has a background in sports medicine, focusing on working with athletes and pediatric orthopedics.
A true follower of the n+1 rule in cycling, Hales is the proud owner of SEVEN bikes. While you’ll mostly find her on the road, she’s recently gotten into mountain biking and is already shredding up the local trails.
Hales loves endurance sports and the amazing things you can accomplish with the human body and a simple machine like a bicycle, the somewhat literal cherry on top is the indulgent post-workout meal!
“There’s a bike for every person” is Hales’ mentality and the main reason she loves working with people every day in the shop.
Stop by our Vienna location to get to know Hales and see her beautiful artwork all over the walls!

Now it’s time to put these ideas into practice. We’ll see you back at your home shop!
Meet Elisabeth (Liz) Sherwood, our Bike Fit Professional in the Navy Yard!
Liz is the perfect example of why every person deserves a quality bike fit. She’s a self-described “transportation cyclist” - which is not the customer that comes to mind when you think of bike fitting. Yet, at a relatively short stature, Liz had trouble finding bikes that fit her, leading to her interest in bike fitting. “Good enough” is not a sustainable solution when it comes to finding a bike that fits you and that you’ll enjoy riding!
Off the bike and out of the shop, Liz travels the world, working with the World Bank to analyze the financial performance of water utilities. While she’s traveling, she’s constantly looking for how cycling infrastructure and a bigger cycling community could help the cities and towns she visits.
If you’re in the DC area, come meet Liz and have her get your bike fit dialed in!

Meet Matthew Graham O’Regan, Professional Bike Fitter in Lexington, Massachusetts.
Matt’s main goal with each Bike Fit is to have the customer feel just like he does; at one with the bike.

Another 🔥🔥 Cannondale SuperSix EVO LAB71 going out the door. Happy new bike day to our friend, Ethan.
What’s your guess on the weight of this thing???
Meet Andrew Lerner, Bike Fit Professional in Charlotte.
Like many bike fitters, Andrew’s journey to becoming a Bike Fit Professional at Conte’s began with his own personal discomfort on the bike. Not happy with just “bearing it,” Andrew began learning about and tinkering with his fit to not only make his bike rides comfortable, but to also maximize his performance in triathlons.
While Andrew started his “serious” cycling journey with triathlon, he’s currently spending a lot of time on his new mountain bike. It’s this love for various disciplines that helps him explain the benefits to bike fitting to ALL cyclists, regardless of their preferred riding style.
Off the bike, you’ll find Andrew gardening or making (and consuming) his own pizzas and waffles. Ride to eat; eat to ride, right?
Our first ever Tour de Taco ride was a great success! Thanks to all who came out and braved the chilly temps and hilly route!
We’ll definitely do this one again, so stay tuned.

Stephan loves working with cyclists of all types, from beach cruisers to pro-level triathletes. He’s been with Conte’s for 8 years and has been a Bike Fit Professional for 5, making him an excellent resource for our customers and our staff alike.
Put on rides, you’ll probably find him with his phone out, snapping pictures of the riders, his bike, or the beautiful scenery.

Meet Judah Del Cais.
Judah has been competing in triathlon for more than 10 years. With bike fit and body position being so critical for triathletes, working as a Bike Fitter was a natural move for him. More than eight years ago, Judah began performing bike fits at a triathlon-specific shop in California before coming to work at Conte’s. While he has a real passion for triathlon and enjoys working with triathletes, Judah is a true believer that everyone should be comfortable on their bike, regardless of what their goals are.
Get to know Judah and book a Bike Fit today!
At the DC Bike Ride? Don’t miss our eBike demo at the Finish Line Festival!
Meet Paul Besser, the manager of our Williamsburg, Virginia shop.
Since 2011, Paul has been working in the bike business, working to get new riders to love cycling like he has since he was 13 years old. What Paul loves most is seeing someone go from an interested customer to a friend of the shop who has turned cycling into an integral part of their lifestyle.
Most recently, Paul received his NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association) Coaching Certification, allowing him to spread his love and knowledge of cycling to the next generation via practices, team events, and clinics with high school mountain bike teams.
Paul loves any ride that includes his kids, but his favorite route of all time is the Seward Highway that goes from Anchorage to Seward Alaska. He has A LOT of bikes – we didn’t make him count – but you’re most likely to see him on his off-road touring bike or his gravel bike.
When not in the shop, Paul spends his time in the great outdoors, camping with his family. He’s also an expert woodworker, churning furniture, signs, and décor out of his wood shop.
