Unknown Maker

This exceptional cupboard represents a type that at one time commonly appeared in homes of Scottish, Scots-Irish and German settlers in the Southern backcountry, yet rarely survives today. This example is unusual not only for its refined architectural character and exceptional condition, but also for retaining the original painted surfaces, which emulate figured mahogany with lightwood stringing, accented with Prussian green moldings.
