Caterpillar Creek Buy Fresh - Buy Local - Buy ORGANIC! farm fresh eggs, vegetables, berries

It's Spring and we got a surprise of 7-9 baby chicks! can't tell the number for sure as our wanderer keeps them hidden from us. They look to be a couple days old! Swarm boxes are up - hoping to attract a relocating swarm soon : )

so sad to report last night and today we lost the three teenager chickens, 5 of the 7 babies and 1 adult who i am sure was trying to protect her young. : (

Thanks Aaron and Grace for your donation

well, none of the 24 chicken eggs in the incubator hatched - George has to figure out what went wrong. on the bright side - Nathan's gardens are doing fabulous! He just planted more yesterday : ) picture coming soon.

Caterpillar Creek re-boot in progress! Incubator purchased, getting ready to put 24 eggs in it. Various vegetables and herbs planted! stay tuned.

We had 3 more chicks born about 11 July and one more chick around 18 July! Our nursery is filled!

Surprise another baby chick has been hatched!

Baby chicks are no longer little! And the vegetable gardens are coming along great! Will post new pics soon! Sorry for those who usually get eggs from us, but we have a brooding hen who keeps switching boxes and we are having to throw the eggs away. George is going to break her of it, so we should hopefully be back on track in another week or so with our egg production : )

And then there was 1. poor little guinea.

Sad news: A coyote killed 5 of our gunieas yesterday : ( George saw it attacking two of them and shot at it, but missed. We are down to 7 guineas now.
