Daily Insight - October 2, 2024

Preparing for a team building workshop.

As the facilitator of United Prestige Davao team's "TEAM BUILDING" activity, I had the chance to prepare a lot of things ahead of time.

The first thing I prepared was my mindset of what should the team building be like. Learning from experience, I have become aware that as the facilitator, I have to make each member aware of what a team should be.

A team is a group of people who joined together to get a specific result. I have noted that a team moves in one direction and this direction comes from the specific result. Sales production, starting a movement, growing a club, the result is always the one giving the direction for everyone in the team.

I have also learned through research, experience and mostly observation, the team dynamics are very important. The kind of communication and coordination with one another is a big factor in building the team.

2016 was the first time I did a team building activity for United Prestige. The president and founder stuck with me as their trainer and capability developer. They have tried other known trainers, life coach and motivational speakers and yet I have been given a chance to help their sales team develop through out the years. Today, 2024, eight years after numerous company team buildings, I am now in Davao conducting and developing their capabilities as team United Prestige Davao.

As they do the activities, I experienced deja vu because this was the same way United Prestige Manila started way back in 2016. from a small group of 20 people, United Prestige Manila is now 150 in total and is still growing as a team.

Lord, I thank you for the chance to be a part of Your plans for these people. I thank you that I am an instrument in building them as a team. I thank You Lord for the trust that You have given me in letting me be their Capability Development trainer. I lift them all up to you! Keep the in Your loving care always.

My dear reader, It may seem that your life might not be as exciting as you would want it to be and yet we should remember that God sends people into your life to give it purpose and meaning. It is the people and not the material things that makes life worth living. Go and fulfill the mission that God has planned for you.

Daily Insight - October 1, 2024

What do I want in my life depends on what I believe in life.

I have had the trouble of finding my path in life. I usually flow with the situation that I find myself in. Years of life has already passed and I look back and realize something.

The things that I have done at points in my life were all based on what I believed in at that time. There were times that I was motivated to achieve and there were times I was paralyzed with fear. These were based on what I believed in at those times.

My belief sets my standards. No matter what the situation may be, what I believe in sets the things that I can accept and the things that I cannot accept. These standards then become the foundation of my decision which in turn moves me into action.

If my belief is in a long term achievement, then my standards adjust to my belief. If my belief is in a short term achievement, then so my standards be.

The funny thing is, when I look at my standards, it is about what can I accept and what I cannot accept. This is where I improve. Evaluating my standards lets me change my actions and eventually my results.

My dear reader, your belief is a strong factor in how your life will go. Are your beliefs creating the set of standards that will bring you to eternal life? If not, then reevaluate yourself and honestly ask yourself, do I even believe in a life eternal after this one? I pray that you find the belief that will bring you to eternal life.

Love does not mean approval.

I have learned that loving someone is a sacrifice. A very good sacrifice. The person's wellbeing and state of physical and spiritual health are very important when I love a person. The most important to me above these is the final destination that my love one will goi to.

I do not want the person I love wind up in hell. That is my top priority when it comes to the people I love. They may be angry by what I tell them. Them may be insulted by my rebuke. They may even hate me for the TRUTH that I make them aware of. All of these I will accept as long as they do not end up in hell.

Just like the way Jesus sacrificed on the cross for me whom He loves. He showed me that LOVE can be gentle and it is still balanced with the TRUTH of GOD because in the end, there is no other place that I would like to be with my family and friends than in the new KINGDOM that Jesus is ESTABLISHING right now.

My dear reader, if by chance that you were offended by my words, know that my true goal is not to hurt your feelings or belittle you. It is rather to make sure that you find Jesus. It is to make you believe and accept Him as your savior. It is to make you release your attachment to this world. It is to make you pick up your cross and follow Him. In the end, that is the best way I can show my love for you. The same kind of love that Jesus showed me.

Faith without action is dead.

This saying has been used and said in all communities that I have had the chance to be a part of. Be it a short stay or a long stay, the members and the leaders of these communities refer to this saying when it come to making their members render service to the community.

The saying would always encourage the members to give their time, talents and treasure. They believe that if a person is not kind to others then his faith is dead. If the member does not give to charity, his faith is dead. It comes to the point where the doing of actions that are good becomes the main reason why their faith is alive. It is sad to think that the good deeds becomes the basis of going to heaven.

Jesus said that He is the Way. The ONLY WAY! This means that no matter what we do, even if we do it in His name, we still cannot go to heaven. This is the reason why Jesus said "I know you not" when there were a group of people who wanted to enter heaven. They did send evil spirits off in the name of Jesus. They did heal the sick in the name of Jesus but they never had the personal relationship with Jesus.

The good works are a fruit or an outcome of first having an intimate and personal relationship with Jesus. The actions that we do in His name are not the main thing to be considered. The personal relationship is what keeps a worship leader, pastor or a priest humble through out his service to God. He knows that without this relationship with Jesus, he can never be good at what he is doing.

Faith without action is dead. The action that is being referred to here is obedience, picking up my cross and following Jesus Christ. Not the charity works, the good deeds and all of that. Those are all the fruit of having a deep, personal and beautiful relationship with JEsus Christ.

My dear reader, have you been obedient to God? Have you picked up your cross and followed Him? If not, start with the basic and that is to develop a personal relationship with Him. It is not yet too late. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Turn away from this world by obeying the Word of God and pick up your cross and follow Him.

God talks to me by sending me messengers.

I shared a message I wrote my nephew who is also my inaanak sa kumpil. I shared it with my younger sister because I wanted her to hear it.

In the message, I wrote how an advice given by my grandmother and father has helped me to be a better person. I shared that it helped me in ways that even if it were someone I did not like, I would help them out. That it helped me find my way to training and helping people find God in their lives.

That's when my little sister said this simple sentence. "Walk the talk." My reaction was not one who just got offended. My reaction was simple. This is God telling me that I was not doing enough. I have to push bringing other people to him a lot more than what I am doing now. Yes, it hurt when she said and yet it gave me a message from God to do better. That's the reason why I said God sends a messenger to give me his message. In this case, it was my little sister who I am very proud of.

My dear reader, have you opened your heart and mind to God? Have you received a message that pricked you ego but still humbled yourself and said, "This is God's message to me. I should listen and discern what He wants me to do." The ego will often get in the way of God's message for us to be better and get closer to Him.

Listen with a humble heart my dear reader. Discern with a trusting mind ther message meant for you my dear reader. Act on the message with a faithful and obedient soul my dear reader and grow in God's love.

June 22, 2024 - Daily Insight

Someone asked me this very wonderful question.

"Paano ko malalaman kung yung taong gusto ko ay yung tamang tao na pakakasalan ko? Dapat ba yung hanapin ko ay yung taong may takot sa Diyos?"

Sumagot ako at ang sabi ko "Wag yung takot sa Diyos ang hanapin mo. Hanapin mo yung may magandang relationship kay Lord." Nagreply yung aking kausap, "Bakit?"

Sabi ko, ang taong maganda ang relationship kay Lord ay nakakasama ang Holy Spirit sa kanyang kalooban. Kapag nasa puso ng isang tao ang Holy Spirit, alam mong hindi sya magkakasala dahil guided sya ng Holy Spirit. Ang taong takot sa Diyos ay kaya pa ring magkasala dahil may pagkakataong wala sa kanya ang Holy Spirit.

Tinanong uli ako "paano ko malalaman kung maganda ang relationship nya kay Lord?"

Ang taong maganda ang relationship kay Lord ay nagpapakita ng Fruits of the Holy Spirit. Makikita sa kanyang actions at pakikitungo sa ibang tao ang fruits of the Holy Spirit. Naririnig a kanyang mga salita ang fruits of the Holy Spirit at higit sa lahat ay nararamdaman ang fruits of the Holy Spirit kapag sya ay kasama mo. Kaya kapag malalim ang relationship ng isang tao kay Lord, ang basihan nito ay ang Fruits of the Holy Spirit kung nakikita, naririnig o nadarama sa kanya ang mga ito.

My dear reader, are you looking for the partner whom God has designated for you? If you are, do not lower your standards. Make sure that he or she lives the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. This way, your union will have God's blessing for all eternity.

Daily Insights - June 21, 2024

20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
MATTHEW 6:20

This verse is always misunderstood and always ignored.

Because of one’s current situation, ang nangyayari is ang treasures na sinasabi sa verse ay napagkakamalang mga material wealth dito sa mundo. Pera, position, ariarian at iba pa ay hinahangad dahil sa kagustuhang maalis sa kahirapan. Yung focus ay nawawala sa tamang focus.

Kapag ang isang tao ay sumusunod, naniniwala at minamahal ang Diyos Ama, Diyos Anak at Diyos Espiritu Santo, sya ay nananampalatayang kahit anong paghihirap na dadanasin dito sa mundo ay kayang tugunan mula sa Grasya ng Diyos. Hindi magugutom, hindi maghihirap, hindi mapapasama at higit sa lahat ay hindi malalayo sa Diyos.

May nagtanong, bakit madami ang nagugutom? Bakit nagkasakit at namatay ang tatay ko, ang anak ko at iba pa? Bakit may naghihirap, bakit may mga gera at nagaaway?

Ang sagot ay madami nang mga tao ang tumalikod at lumayo sa Diyos. Ang kanilang hangad ay mapaun;lad ang sarili kaya may naghihirap at may nagugutom. Tungkol naman sa pagkamatay ng isang mahal sa buhay, yan ang patakaran ng mundo. May katapusan ang lahat. Pati ang mundong ito ay may katapusan. Hindi natin alam kung old age ba, aksidente, sakit o pagpaslang ng ibang tao ang magiging dahilan ng ating pagkamatay. Ang alam natin ay lahat ay mamamatay. Habang hindi ito tinatanggap ng tao, sil ay magpupumilit na magipon ng kayaman, power at fame dito sa mundo na may katapusan.

Ang isa pang katotohanan na naisaad sa Bibliya ay pagnamatay ang isang tao, sya ay may patutunguhang lugar. Langit o Impyerno. Ito ay base kung sya ay naniniwala kay Hesu Kristo, tinalikuran ang mundo at pinulot ang kanyang krus at sumunod kay Kristo. Hindi ito nakabase sa dami ng pera, position na naabot, sa dami ng taong natulungan, sa sariling kakayahan o sa pagiging sobrang matalino.

Kaya mga kapatid, ako ay nananawagan na laging nananawagan na tayo ay maniwala at matutong ibig si Hesus. Sa pamamagitan nito ay kusang magiging humble, maalalahanin, mapagmahal, mapagaruga, mapagbigay at mapagpatawad ang isang tao. Hindi dahil sya ay likhang mabait, ito ay dahil siya ay naniniwala at minamahal si Hesus, kanyang tinatalikuran ang mundo (mga kasalanan) at kanyang kinakarga ang krus na bukod tanging paraan na maipapakita nya kay Hesus na mahal na mahal nya sya.

Palaging maging mapagkumbaba at palaging humingi ng tawad sa ating mga kasalanan. hindi tayo perfect kaya always be humble and admit, I am a sinner, I need Jesus Christ to be born again as one fo His followers.

Daily Insights - June 2, 2024

Is it really hard to do good?

There are times that I would offer to pay for the meal of a stranger. The stranger would strongly refuse my offer and say "Nakakahiya po. Wag na po."

There are times that I would give alms to the poor and the person I am with will stop me from giving saying that I should think about myself first before I give to others.

There are times that people will not understand what I am doing. They will make it hard for me to follow the call of the Holy Spirit to give. The call of the Holy Spirit to feed someone who is hungry. The call of the Holy Spirit to clothe someone who is naked. The call to do good to a brethren because I do it also unto Jesus Christ.

The times that I am confronted with two calls, I will always heed the call of the Holy Spirit and do what it call me to do. This way, I show my FAITH, LOVE and OBEDIENCE to God and not to this world. A world that I would soon leave behind because a better place is waiting for me in my next life with Jesus Christ.

My dear reader, It is not good if you give everything away and you leave nothing for yourself. If you have an excess, share. No matter how many times the beggar knocks on your door, give what you can. If you cannot anymore then turn them away and have faith that the Holy Spirit will send the beggar to the right person who will give.

Have faith, love your neighbor and give the highest praise by obeying the words of God.

As the twilight of my life comes nearer, I pray that your eyes, my dear reader, will be opened and your heart will be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Season's Greetings to all of you. This Christmas, I pray that we all stay focused on the true meaning of Christmas. It is okay to prepare for Noche Buena. It is okay to attend Misa de Gallo. It is great to give gifts to others. It is wonderful to show love for one another during the Christmas season. These are all positive things and actions that are legendary as long as we have Jesus Christ in our hearts and mind.

Prepare the Noche Buena because we gather as a family and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Attend Misa de Gallo because show our anticipation of the coming of Jesus Christ. Let us give gifts to others because we remember the greatest gift of Jesus Christ which is ETERNAL LIFE. Let's show love to one another because we feel the over abundance of the love of Jesus Christ for us. Let this season be legendary because Jesus Christ is the best and the greatest part in our hearts.

Stay focused on the true reason we have Christmas. Keep Christ in your hearts forever.
