How to fix a phone that won’t charge. 😕

It’s a problem many of us have experienced at some point – at the end of a long day your phone is on the brink of dying. You get home, plug it in and… nothing happens. That can be frustrating enough, but trying to solve the issue can be even more so.

There are a few problems that could be occurring – your device could be refusing to charge altogether, or it could simply be charging really slowly; sometimes so slowly that it’s actually using power faster than it’s gaining it. If you’re experiencing any of these problems. Here are few ways to help you fix the problem...✅

Check the charging cable

The charging cable is by far the most common charging problem, which makes sense – they endure a lot of unwrapping and rewrapping, flexing, and people trying to plug them in at weird angles. All of these things can damage the cable.

Turn your phone off

Turn your phone off while it’s charging (or at least turn the screen off) there’s little chance that you could be using power too quickly. Even simply switching over to airplane mode could seriously speed up your charging time...

Check the USB socket

Often the issue is the small metal connector in the USB port, which may be slightly bent in a way that means it doesn’t make proper contact with the charging cable.

To fix this, switch your phone off, and remove the battery if you can. Then take a pin or something similar in size and straighten the small tab inside the USB port on your phone. Make sure you’re not too rough with this process – you could end up doing more damage than good.

Uninstall suspicious apps
Applications that are not downloaded from your phone’s default app store commonly contain viruses that affects your device’s performance. Uninstall these apps and restrain from downloading softwares from unreliable sources to avoid malware that affect the performance of your phone.

Use Antivirus
Viruses can be very persistent and sometimes require Antivirus software to get rid of them. Go to your phone’s App store, type ‘antivirus’ in the search bar and download your preferred antivirus app. Launch the app and scan your files to get rid of any virus that may cause your phone to hang.

Avoid heavy games/videos and using for long periods
Playing games of large sizes take up a huge space on your phone’s ram while it is running and doing this for long periods of time stretches your phone’s capabilities which results in hanging. Avoid these games on phones with small rams and if you have to, do not play for a long period of time.

Download & install latest software

Your phone’s software and other apps release updated versions regularly and these updates usually contain bug fixes that may solve any abnormality you’re experiencing with your phone or particular apps. It is recommended that you download and install system updates for your phone to fix any phone hangingor freezing problems associated with the previous software version.

Delete Irrelevant files
keeping irrelevant files and apps take up storage space on your phone and your phone needs sufficient storage to run smoothly. Delete heavy videos or games on your phone to free up space and allow your phone run seamlessly.

Get external memory
If your phone’s storage is not large enough to contain the files you need, you will most likely have to be deleting files regularly to keep your phone from hanging. To keep all your important files and still have your device running smoothly, get a SD card that can contain all the files you need.

I know what you're thinking right now but let me clear the air.
Early in the month of March this year, we had a heavy rain fall in our state. Although I newly moved in here so I'm still getting aquinted with the environment.
