on Dec 18, 2008 and got it registered from the Office of The Registrar of Cooperative Societies, East Khasi Hills, Government of Meghalaya under Section II of the Meghalaya Cooperative Societies Act (Assam Act I of 1950 as adapted by Meghalaya) as Registration No. SHILL/20 of 2009 dated 2nd July 2009. Since its inception, the group has continued to work and provide various services for the welfare

of the citizens and the group member as well. The group has started by marketing the biodegradable plastic bags in the initial years and later in 2010 started the Solid Waste Management primarily in collection mechanism from house to house, biz establishment and institutions. Adding to the services of the society, in the year 2016, the group has opened up a Common Service Center (CSC) located at Nongthymmai. The Common Services Center (CSC) Scheme is a part of the ambitious National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).

The Purchase Committee of the Uplifter Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. on the 3rd March 2023 has purchased office materials and equipments such as Computer, Printer, Chairs, Computer Table, etc for operation of daily activities at the Society’s Centre at Nongthymmai. The society expressed a sincere thanks to the YESS Meghalaya for sanctioning the scheme towards the society which has really benefited.
