Baijnath is a historic Shiva temple located in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, known for its unique tradition of offering aloe mandal (pure ghee and dry fruits coating) on Shivling on Makar Sankranti, kept for 7 days and then distributed as prasad. Ghee, which recognizes skin disease healing and prosperity. This is a centuries old tradition, using quintal full of ghee and is the center of faith for Shiva devotees.
