This month in our Clare Street location we have an exhibition of ‘shell paintings’ by Beatrice Somerville-Large(1913-2012). Entirely made from shells and coral, the pictures depict botanical themes, such as ponds, meadows, bouquets and garlands. Meticulously detailed and colour coordinated, and excellently framed, the works were mainly donated to raise funds for charitable causes during her lifetime. Organised by those who have long appreciated her work, this small exhibition of 17 pieces is the first time a body of her work has been shown to the public. Please drop in any time.
