Well, folks, that's that. I closed the doors for the final time yesterday after a fantastic last day. My lovely daughter Deb sang her heart out for the assembled multitude, and everything went swimmingly. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the lovely vinyl heads who have visited the shop, bought records, sold records, swapped records, or just popped in for a brief visit. It's been a brilliant ride. I've met a lot of great people via Platform One, many with whom I'm sure I'll keep in touch. So, once again, thanks for everything. Let me just add that the shop is not disappearing, the good Alex Stallybrass will be taking it over, and it will continue as a second hand vinyl emporium, re-opening as 'Platform Two' at the end of July. What's going on.... two posts in one day? Well, as most of you probably know by now, my record shop 'Platform One Records', is coming to an end. Next Saturday (May 28th) will be the last day. I hasten to add that the shop will be continuing as a second hand record shop, re-opening at the end of July with a nice new owner called Alex. Anyway, to celebrate my last day in residence I am really delighted to have my lovely daughter Debbie singing in the shop with some old geezer backing her on guitar. Deb is a fantastic singer who is shortly embarking on a major tour of the USA with a small orchestra, culminating at The Carnegie Hall in NYC. Amazing! The gig in my shop kicks off at about 2pm, admission is free, there will still be loads of great vinyl to look at, but it'll just be great to see a few people there. Cheers, Nick.

Well, what a brilliant final DJ Saturday. Everyone turned up, the music was great, loads of fun. Thanks so much to all the fab DJs who came along and spun their treasured vinyl, and thanks to everyone else who came along and made it such a great day. Remember, the shop is open next week and on Saturday 28th May there will be one last event. Here are some pictures of our lovely DJs and friends.
