Some designs never lose their relevance.

Designed by Finnish designer Timo Sarpaneva, Suomi has been one of Rosenthal’s most iconic collections since 1976 - combining soft, organic forms with remarkable functionality. Inspired by smooth pebbles shaped by nature, the collection became internationally celebrated and even received a gold medal at the Faenza Ceramics Biennial.

Its sculptural silhouette, pure white porcelain and subtle stainless steel details still feel timeless today.

In 2026, Timo Sarpaneva would have celebrated his 100th birthday - a beautiful occasion to honour one of the great visionaries of Scandinavian design. 🤍

With TAC Glitch, the latest TAC collection, designer Tommaso Guerra reinterprets Walter Gropius’ iconic Bauhaus design through the beauty of imperfection. Inspired by the idea that “to err is human”, shifted lines, displaced ornaments and fine gold details create a playful tension between precision and disruption.

The retro-inspired decor brings a contemporary perspective to the timeless geometric language of TAC - turning a Rosenthal classic into a bold new design statement.

Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus, designed the “Rosenthal am Rothbühl” production facility in 1963 - an architectural icon that still defines Rosenthal today. Fascinated by porcelain as a material, he later created TAC: a collection shaped by Bauhaus principles that has become an enduring icon of modern tableware.

This carousel offers a closer look behind the icon - from rare archive moments with Philip Rosenthal and Walter Gropius to the craftsmanship and production at Rosenthal am Rothbühl today.
