Who is Berk Composites?
Some of you might know us thanks to Weightweenies and the topic where I started to post all my carbon work as a teenager.
As a cyclist I of course started to work on bicycle parts. At the age of 19 I already started with my own company, of course after years of different experiments, prototypes,...all that time I was also a cyclist at team Radenska Rog, but later decided to rather study mechanical engineering and invest more time for composite engineering.
In 2013 I decided to move forward, so we created a larger company with Andraz Vehovar, a great friend of mine. We meet years ago thanks to my former trainer Andrej Hauptman, when I still raced as a professional cyclists. We cycled together for years and realized that we can reach a lot more if we put our heads together.
Berk is my surename and our brand only for bicycle parts. We produce also other carbon parts on request. Otherwise I'm a former cyclist and soon I'll finish the study of mechanical engineering, and by the age of 23 I'm the CEO of our company, the guy in blue on the photo. Working on R&D together with Andraz, and we of course also produce the parts. Andraz has a PhD from Chemistry, and he is also a great sportsman, a former slalom canoer and a silver medalist at the 1996 Summer Olympic games in Atlanta. Andraz is the guy on the left.
Our team is slowly growing, we meet with another guy with great passion for cycling, an architect who is a former street artist, the guy who is working on the finish of our products, airbrush paintings, etc.,..his name is Ales, the one on the right side. Unfortunately another team member is missing on this photo, but we will soon present you more about our team in the future.
Our very important partner is also GorjupDesign, the best designer for complex carbon moulds/parts, the guy who can put our ideas into reality. With GorjupDesign we are also working on different projects, more about him www.gorjupdesign.si
