Thank you Michel Keersmaekers-Michiels for hosting a great Paddle Of The Kempen event. It is because of people like you that our hopes of returning to normal life and new beginnings are kept alive!

I love racing and I get a feeling this year will be very different from the 2 previous years in which our sport and lives in general had been impacted in so many ways. We are getting back to normal and when I look at this year's SUP racing calendar, I am thrilled about what is to come.

It was great to catch up with these two great champions Joep van Bakel and Kjell De Bruyn on the proverbial battle field. To come out on top was my goal going into the race and I tried and failed many times during the 16 km course, but ultimately brought home the gold.

Let's fight another day soon!

200 Kuscheltiere vom der EV Duisburg - Die Füchse 🙏 wie auch 100 der gesammelten Herzenswärmer, aus unserer Spendenaktion, kommen nach Rücksprache mit den jeweiligen Verantwortlichen geflüchteten Kindern zu Gute.

Es laufen aktuell schon unterschiedliche Impfaktionen der Stadt Essen für ukrainische Flüchtlinge. Dabei wollen wir gemeinsam den traumatisierten Kindern mit kleinen Kleinigkeiten die Prozedur etwas erleichtern und ein Lächeln aufs Gesicht zaubern.

Auf den Bildern seht ihr die Übergabe an Herr Spors (Leiter der kommunalen Impfeinheit) und die laufende Impfaktion in einer Flüchtlingsunterkunft.

Dank der Hilfsbereitschaft des Elisabeth-Krankenhaus Essen durften wir einen Teil der Herzenswärmer für die Impfaktionen zur Verfügung stellen🙏🏼

In der aktuellen Zeit ist es wichtiger denn je zusammen zu halten und gemeinsam zu sein! 💙

Deswegen haben wir ab dieser Saison eine Neuerung für Euch: Ihr habt bei uns die Möglichkeit Boards für eine längere Zeit auszuleihen. Für einzelne Tage, bis zu einer ganzen Woche oder auch zwei. Somit kommen alle, die es einsam und ruhig haben wollen auf Ihre Kosten. Nehmt euch das Board zu Eurer Wunschlocation mit und genießt eine entspannte Zeit auf dem Wasser.

Ihr könnt Euch das Board auch mit in den Urlaub nehmen und mit der ganzen Familie eine schöne Zeit auf dem Wasser haben.

Seit gespannt! Wir arbeiten gerade an der praktischen Umsetzung. Eines vorweg -> es wird sich ausschließlich um Markenboards von Starboard SUP , Fanatic SUP International oder Light Board Corp handeln 🤩

Little recap of my 2022 GlaGla race.

I know I need to be satisfied and find peace with the way I raced. From the start onwards I fought on my own terms. I tried to utilize my strengths, paddled my own race and let others follow my lead. Sometimes you get sucked into situations by the actions of others, but this race I wanted to show to myself I can also dictate what happens in a race. Be where I wanted to be. Get clean water from the first meters and have a clear path towards buoy 1. And I did! I pulled it off. From then onwards I tried to find my pace and stay with the lead pack. It worked out well but unfortunately I was uneconomical at times with my energy and it cost me.

In the end I came up short and landed on a 9th place finish, but the feeling of pride and confidence is there. Racing is racing and I still have lots to learn.

Big shout out to Light Board Corp and Gerd Weisner for putting trust in me.

This has been a great year. This could not have been possible if the people around me did not exist. I want to thank my family for always being there for me and especially my father since he is the one who trains me when Training Week is at home. I was lucky enough to travel to races, compete against the best and train one-on-one with Vincent. Thank you Gerd Weisner for the very fast boards, I am happy to be a part of the Light Board Corp team or better said, family.
