Happy 19th Birthday to our Rowan!

I couldn’t be more proud of the young man you’ve become. Hardworking, loyal, and always willing to take on a challenge.

Here’s to new adventures, big goals, and making memories that last a lifetime.

Love you ❤️🎂

Yesterday was chick day.
Picked up our little cheep cheeps — a few more layers and this season’s meat birds.

Now the brooder is full of peeping and fresh shavings.
Homestead season is officially rolling.

A handful of fresh morels found right outside the porch.
Not enough for a feast, but more than enough to make a family meal feel special.

Sometimes homestead life is just little moments like this; black flies buzzing, spring air, and wild food straight from the woods (or in this case the yard)!

Keep it simple. Keep it wild.

A couple years ago I made this custom Snacker Pack for a young Scout who stopped by my market booth. His mom secretly ordered it for him.

Fast forward to this week…full circle moment. That same Scout is now in my Outdoor Ed class and showed up to camp still rocking his Snacker Pack. He spotted mine and instantly made the connection.

Over the years, as a Scout, Girl Guide Leader, and now Outdoor Ed teacher, I have been part of the camps, the adventures, the independence, and the memories that stick with you for life.

Now as a gear maker, it is pretty special seeing gear I built become part of someone else’s adventures and memories too.

That’s what it’s all about.
Keep it wild.

Quiet morning coffee before the chaos.

Outdoor Ed spring camp has been a little extra wild this year… heavy rain, soaked gear, a few flooded tents, and blackflies in full force.

Nature doesn’t always play nice, but that’s part of the adventure. These students are learning resilience, teamwork, and that sometimes the best memories come from the hardest moments.

The blackfly bites will fade.
The stories, laughs, campfire cooks, wet gear, and memories made out here will last forever.

Spring is full send around here. 🌱

This morning started with cutting and stitching on a custom Terrain UL pack build. By the afternoon it was back to homestead life - cleaning up the garlic and asparagus beds, prepping potato rows, and getting the barn ready for meat birds arriving in just over a week.

The ‘To Do’ list is never ending…

No factory. No team. Just me bouncing between ultralight gear, dirt under my nails, and trying to keep everything moving forward one day at a time.

I think that’s why this all fits together so well. The same mindset that goes into building gear for the backcountry is the same mindset that comes with country living - practical, durable, hard-earned, rewarding and real.

Keep it wild.

Real life cooking tip from my daughter… wear swim goggles when cutting onions 😂🧅

Honestly though, moments like this are the good stuff.
Learning confidence, independence, and life skills one meal at a time.

Red Dress Day is a reminder that Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people are missing and murdered across this land.

For the missing.
For the stolen.
For the voices that must be heard.

May the 4th be with you.

No hype.
No gimmicks.

Just gear that holds up—
whether you’re deep in the bush or way off map.

Built tough.
Built simple.
Built to go further than you probably should.
