I use dark, milk, white, sugar free, vegan and gluten free chocolate.

If you are still on the hunt for bunnies, Iona has milk, dark, crispie and some dark seasalt .. even some minis!

What is left will remain until Monday morning.

A reminder that online will remain closed until April 22nd.

However, the Little Dipper in Iona will continue to sell during that time frame.

Easter is 2 weeks from today 🐣

As of this morning the Little Dipper in Iona was restocked with all 8 flavours & minis. I will restock each day until next Sunday ….then I go to Halifax for the week.

Online shoppers, I will be shipping out orders tomorrow & then not again until Friday March 27th at noon. That will be the last day and then online will be ‘closed’ until April 19th.

Hoppy Easter shopping everyone. Support local …. Buy real chocolate instead of the other stuff. It’s soooo worth it.

Have you ever watched this movie (or read the book)?
It’s a gem.

This mysterious lady moves into town and opens a chocolate shop at the beginning of lent. Tempting the faith and abstinence of the folks who have given up sweets for the 40 days before Easter.

Lent starts today. I personally haven’t given anything up since probably 1997 (roast chicken chips….and I didn’t break my fast….which was an accomplishment for me).
As a kid I remember choosing to give up raisins and nuts one year. I was told that didn’t count.

Good luck to anyone that is going to hold out on their own vice for the next 40 days. If it is chocolate I will meet you at the other end.

As for my Izaak bunnies… almost ready to roll out. Been quietly working away on them for weeks 💕

I do love chocolate - all sweets really.

I’ve been doing Valentines Chocolates for many years now. It’s not your average chocolate holiday. Many many factors affect sales.

In general Valentines Day itself can be my largest sale day of the year … if the stars are aligned.

This year I calculated would not be one of those years.

Normally I’d be at Scotia Square. But men Valentine’s shoppers do not start buying generally until Feb 13 and most are scrambling on the 14th. Sorry. It’s a trend I have watched for 20 some years.

So I have learned.

It’s on a Saturday this year (no one works at Scotia Square on weekends )
Fridays the 13th …. Well very few workers go to the office on Fridays since Covid.

And well the 11th and 12th …. Usually a snow storm blows through the province and everyone is home shovelling.

Case in point. Snow day today & tomorrow in NS.

But if you are a regular at Scotia Square you know all this because I told you at Xmas I would not be there.

in Inverness does have some Valentine’s Chocolates from us.

When I get to this stage of starting to catch up … the beginning of this song by the Rankins always goes through my head. Wooo!

Website starting to be opened up all. Took a bit…. Appointments, shop maintenace, power outages and sh*tty weather.

But it’s starting to come together here 🎶

Bob Weir. Definitely one of my most unexpected meets at the 2014 American Music Awards. I’m not sure what brought him there exactly that year. He had taken his family through the gifting suite though, and was happy to let me grab this pic. 💕 The conversation was short and all about chocolate and where I was from.
Rest in peace and thank you for the music.

Ok. Clearly I lied and do not have enough. Mixed boxes, peanut butter, seasalt caramels have been cleaned out.

If you are looking for something other than medallions & sponge just don’t bother folks. It’s gone.

I will stay today until 5 today like promised… but tomorrow…. Probably just take the morning to start tearing down and sell off the medallions to the last minute shoppers.

I really did bring far more chocolate this year, but I’m guessing many of my Craft NS mid-Nov weekend show (that we were not able to do this year) came hunting.

I’ve said it before…you do LOVE my chocolates and I am beyond humbled. Just so grateful.

Well heck….anyone else beginning to feel a bit like Olaf from Frozen with a perpetual snow cloud over their head???

36 hour trip home. Arrived safe. Raised hands up in thanks and then down to kiss the indoor parkade floor. 🙇‍♀️ Thanks to all sending checkins of concern.

No shortage of traffic, four-way flashers, snow, slush, black ice and cars off the road. Friday and this afternoon.

But I made it. Cat & kids fed. Laundry. Sleep and work and work. And drive.

Countdown is on…

Scotia Square /Halifax we are restocked with sponge, peanut butter, butter crunch (no dark) & 12p assorted. Sorry peppermint was impossible to restock this weekend.
You cannot possibly sell me out this week! (Though you can try and prove me wrong 😉

Cape Breton…..Dipper is also out of peppermint bark. But I think has some and I think too?

does not have peppermint bark but did received a fresh supply of other items today.

ONLINE … closed now until I get back home. Impossible to fill pickup orders or shipping orders. All orders in before now will be shipped tomorrow.

I think that is all???

Oooooo I am counting the days to vacation 🎄💃

Hellooo choc fans.

Update for online orders -

as I’m away two weeks in December, the last shipments to go out will be Friday. Pickup at Dipper will still be available. Orders placed before Friday at noon will still be shipped.

Shout out to Canada Post for sorting things out btw. They have been nothing but excellent for me this season. Fast service. And a post office just down the the road. Very grateful for them.

Thanks to all that ordered online so far. And to my Sydney customers. Humbled by your love for my chocolates. 💕

Halifax… we will see you next week at Scotia Square.

Nope I do not have my tree up yet, but this has been my life since the end of August. It has been Christmas for months!

Last piece of our chocolate puzzle is being done today … hot chocolates!

It’s a lot of variety.
It’s a lot of chocolate.
Nothing new - we just don’t have time. And really it make’s your decision harder… it’s tough already!

Sydney this weekend….the space is small. Impossible to put all we do on the table. You can order online and say pickup at dipper (and note Sydney) if you like. Or ask in case I have a few tucked under the table.

The stores have received their shipments - so if you are not near Sydney this weekend, try one of the other locations.
