Good Evening Friends,
I am still getting lots of messages and comments regarding where to go to find some delicious local food and how to get in contact with our suppliers.
I am busy at my new job, so might be delayed in responses, but I am very happy to send and help out anyone who still has questions.

Ok....been MIA for a couple weeks settling into my new job! There are still lots of suppliers to mention and go through so you can still support and enjoy the amazing products we offered for many years!

was one of our longest standing suppliers of some of the best sourdough breads! Of course their cookies, especially the Ultimate Gingers were also amazing and to die for. They are located right on King Street and have quite the line of delectables to enjoy!

was our provider of hamburger and sausage buns, fruit pies, butter tarts, potato and macaroni salads and coleslaw. They are located in the heart of St Jacobs and are a great spot to stop by and grab some treats! I would highly recommend trying their apple Fritters or tea balls too.

Our every day white, whole wheat, raisin and cheese breads came from Winroe Gardens. Also a supplier we had a VERY long relationship with, Winroe not only supplied the breads but date squares and turnovers and the apple dumplings and sauce. Located in West Montrose.

The goat cheese was from St Clements goat dairy located in....St Clements. They provided the long line of goat cheese, curds, milk and yogurt. They are also the makers of the very popular Jersey Cheddar that was available in the shop.

A little off the meat track but also highly requested items. We firmly believe it's not just what you eat and put into your body, but also on your body that counts. Hence our 'Health and Beauty' corner of the store.

We had the privilege of working with for a number of years. First with Karen, who founded the company, and then with her daughter Nieve who is currently running the company. A long line of health and beauty products including, but not limited to, soaps, bath fizzles, deodorants, body sprays, moisturizers, lip balms and more! Find Posy online and have it shipped directly to you.

We also had products available in the store. It was a pleasure to work with Tanya over many years. Their products were all made with their emu oil as the base. They had pure emu oil, pain relief cream, shampoo and conditions, lotions and more! They do not list their meat, but if you inquire I am sure they can point you in the right direction!

Lastly, one of more recent suppliers, Idle and Wood candles. Beautiful scents to fill your home or office space. We had the privilege of working with Amanda for a couple years. She has some amazing candles and you can also find her online.

Next up PORK!
Our pork farmers for the last number of years has been John and Tanya Ge**er and family. Their farm name is Tanjo Farms and they are located outside of Millbank. They have direct on farm sale, offer bulk pork purchases and you can find them at a few markets as well I believe.

So many of you couldn't get enough of our bacon and pork sausages. All of our pork was shipped to Brubacher Meats to be processed and smoked. You can also buy directly from them. They are located in West Montrose and they are the go to if you're needing your bacon fix!

Today is chicken!
We had 2 of, what I would consider, the best chicken farmers around!!
We had the honor of having Country Poultry Processing join our adventure 19 years ago! They were our first official supplier. At the time we started with whole chickens. Our businesses both grew over the years and by the end, Country Poultry was processing their whole birds into all different cuts for us to sell. They were also referred to as our Omega 3 chicken or Martin's chicken in the store (Paul Martin and Family are the farmers).
Second up we had Howick Community Farmers join us a few years back due to the demand of pasture raised poultry requests. They then became our suppliers for our pastured eggs and lamb.

Ok friends....next up Beef.
There is an abundance of beef farmers in the Waterloo Region and just beyond. We also have some great local butchers you can check out as well. Also don't forget about our farmers markets! Whether you're just looking for your weekly stock up or interested in bulk, there is someone to help you out for sure!

Once again there is just a handful of ones tagged here. This isn't even close to the amount of farmers available to choose from.

We had a full list of our suppliers available as hard copies in the store leading to our close. If you are interested in being emailed a copy, DM me on here with your email address and I will send you one!

Ok friends....I promised I would start to post about how you can continue supporting local, supporting our farmers and producers and keeping stock of some of your favourite items even though our doors are closed.

The MOST highly requested item was of course bison. There are many farms spread all across Ontario. We have friends from the southern tip to the northern tip that raise bison that we would recommend. To find the best fit for you, I would highly recommend going to:

This way you can find who is the closest, who sells where and if they're a good match for what you're looking for. I have tagged just a few (that have Instagram) on this post. One, who is solely on Facebook, is Blanbrook Bison Farm who helped us start on our bison adventure here!
There's many many more amazing bison farmers out there! So take a look and find a way to continue getting this amazingly nutritional meat into your diet!
