Woop woop...We have our copy of the new CAD Magazine...Do you? CAD stands for Caribbean Architecture Design and its published by the Barbados Institute of Architects. We have printed 2500 copies so look out for it around the island...if you cant get your hands on a hard copy dont worry as its available online at the institute's website www.bia.bb. It has loads of interesting articles and great photos of projects from Barbados and the Caribbean!!

Clean Up Barbados 2023

Clean Up Barbados is a wrap for another year. We had a total of about 40 volunteers cleaning up this Illegal dump site by Ashbury Plantation in St.George. 15 volunteers from Kooyman Barbados + 25 volunteers from Studio Blue Architects Inc, friends, family and Upton Neighbourhood.
We found some "documents" belonging to a VERNON HEWITT of Holders Hill, St.James at the dump site and would like your assistance in locating him so that we could "return" them. Any help would be appreciated. We have only scratched the surface at this site which is less than 1km from the Golden Ridge Water Pumping Station and abot 200m from the Sweetvale Pumping Station.....anyone for some polluted water?😡 Thanks to Juda for the bobcat, Claybury Plantation for the tractor, Scrapman Waste & Recycling for the garbage truck and Infra Equipment Rentals for the Skip.

At this time of year we like to make donations to a couple needy causes instead of sending greeting cards. This year we were very happy to make donations to the QEH Paediatric Ward in conjunction with Cooper Kauffman (they raised a whopping $18,000 in total - wow) and to the Eden Lodge Youth Charitable Trust. Admiring the in Guadeloupe with their use of loft spaces and dormer windows. Great examples and inspiration of how to design for our climate. Loving the use of colour and the ........but these post boxes are crazy! Everyone has their postbox at the end of the gap.....intetesting compositions but my OCD was going off the scale 😆
