Charity Shop In a nutshell, You Donate, You Shop, We Give Back! We do this to encourage reuse of items and prevent the overloading of our landfill.

Donation Nation is a Charity Shop that accepts donated items to resell with the goal of giving back to local charities. Donors drop off items at Donation Nation and we sort, price and barcode all items for sale. Once an item is sold, 33% of the sale is donated to local charities. The percentage of sales is collected and once ready to disburse, the sales are divided evenly between all charities. Th

e remaining percentage goes towards running Donation Nation, a Future Centre Trust initiative. Our aim is threefold:
- To divert items from entering the landfill.
- To encourage Barbadians to be philanthropic.

Q: What is the procedure for donating items to Donation Nation

A: All donations are to be dropped off at Donation Nation during business hours. We ask that all donations are cleaned and or washed and in good reasonable condition for resale. Once you arrive, press the doorbell at the blue door where we will review your items and once acceptable we will take them. In regards to furniture, we ask that you contact us before donating.

Donation Nation is a charity shop that gives back to local charities and supports the circular economy by offering a space for Barbadians to donate and thrift. At Donation Nation, we are passionate about providing outstanding service to our customers and those who donate to us.

We are currently looking for a reliable, committed and passionate individual for the role of Full Time Sales Associate to join our team.

As a part of the team, you will assist in the day to day operations of the shop including assisting customers and processing donations.

Requirements:
- Sound knowledge of clothing brands, fabrics and styling
- Experience in display and merchandising
- Attention to detail and integrity
- Excellent customer service skills
- Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Excel and in operating POS systems

One of the greatest things about thrifting is discovering vintage and collectible pieces! 📜🥰

Our new space holds all things vintage and collectibles.

The options are endless: vintage silver ware, serve ware (serving dishes, trays and cutlery), candelabra's, decanters, vinyl records, old magazines, vintage books, purses, toys, furniture and artwork, collectable plates and fine china sets.

Earlier this month, we hosted our open house to showcase the new expansion to all the charities we support and some of our Donation Nation supporters.

During this, we did our first disbursement for the year of 2023 to our list of charities. This year from Nov 2022 to May 2023 we have disbursed over $92,000 collectively to 17 charities in Barbados! 🎉🥳👏

Here’s a little back story: The late Dr. Colin Hudson was the founder of Future Centre Trust. With his vision passed onto others; Donation Nation was then established.

*Pick-ups will incur a fee depending on the number of pieces needed to be collected and the distance from Donation Nation.
