As I get older, I’m realising just how important breathing practices are and the amazing benefits they bring. It’s incredible how just a few deep breaths can change how you feel. Whether it’s easing anxiety, improving focus, or simply providing a moment of calm in a busy day, mindful breathing can make a huge difference.

I really envy those who discovered the importance of breath practice early on and have had it as a tool for years. Even just taking the time for four deep, slow breaths can help you feel calmer and more grounded. This deceptively simple yet powerful practice reminds us to pause, connect with our bodies, and reset our minds.

Embracing these moments of intentional breathing has become an essential part of my routine, offering clarity and peace amidst the chaos of daily life.

My favourite place to do yoga is outside, surrounded by trees or near the calming sound of water. But let's be real—most days, I end up rolling out my mat behind the chairs in my lounge, looking at the washing.

Even with this less-than-ideal backdrop, yoga still works its magic, making my mind and body feel amazing no matter where I practice. The key is to find those moments of calm and presence, wherever you can. So, whether you're in a beautiful natural setting or squeezing in a session at home amidst the chaos, embrace the practice.

It’s International Yoga Day! Of course, every day is yoga day, but I reckon it is nice to stop and appreciate how awesome yoga is. This year’s theme, "Yoga for Self and Society," is a great reminder of the interconnectedness of individual and collective health. It highlights how yoga enhances our personal health and contributes to social well-being.

Yoga is more than just a practice; it’s a journey towards improved internal and external well-being. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or just starting, today is a perfect reminder to roll out your mat, take some deep breaths, or perhaps just sit and reconnect with yourself.

With that in mind, it's nudged me to make time to breathe and stretch today. June is always hectic for me, and I feel like I'm turning chair shaped from spending way too much time at my desk! So, tonight, when things calm down, I'll spend some time with my yoga mat.

I hope you can also carve out a moment for yourself today, even if it's just five minutes with your eyes closed, focusing on your breath. You'll feel the difference and thank yourself!

**Stress Relief**

Last week I finally succumbed to the flu and spent days resting under the doona. It's been bug central since April, but my trusty lemon, ginger, and honey hot drinks got me through. Let me share a story that reminded me of the magic in everyday moments. Having a dip yesterday, my hubby noticed a dragonfly struggling in the water. He reached out and gently lifted it out. Rather than heading off, the dragonfly decided Tim's finger was a good place to pause and dry out its wings. As it rested on his finger, we were treated to a close-up of its intricate wings, made even more beautiful as they sparkled in the sunlight.

Start your day with a simple self-care routine that sets a positive tone! Whether it's journaling, gentle yoga stretches, or a nourishing breakfast, embrace intentions that elevate your morning. ☀️🌻​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​I love incorporating a few minutes of yoga right in my PJs! Beginning in bed, sometimes without even opening my eyes, I ease into gentle twists, knees-to-chest, and happy baby poses before melting into a juicy forward fold. Then, I pop my legs over the edge of the bed and hoist myself up to perform some easy sun salutations—facing my bedroom wall, but hey, it is the thought that counts! 🧘‍♀️
