The worst of the dust storm hit Sydney earlier this week but authorities have warned residents of the extremely dangerous quality of the air, with particular regard to people with heart and lung conditions.

The Bureau of Meteorology warned the dust storm could last for an extra couple of days, despite reducing in intensity as it leaves the region.

The Ministry of Health for New South Wales (NSW), Australia, has issued a severe warning as the orange dust storm could be potentially dangerous for anyone.
