Finally got around to de-seeding more Pimply Squash from Dennis x 3. And 1 Pimply and 1 J*p Pumplin grown in my back yard. A good haul of seeds. One was almost rotten through, hence the urgency to get them de-seeded tonight. And then too much pumplin to cook. So I tried with stuff I had in the cupboard.

2 half pimplies with ginger, butter, and oil from Olive Odessy.
2 half pimplies with garglic paste, butter, and another different oil from Olive Odessy. Not sure if the oil made the difference or not. Probably not, and not being a real connoisseur of olive oils I could not tell the difference. Perhaps in a salad the flavour of the oil might be more distinct.
Plus
2 half J*p Pumpkins with both oils plus chilli powder and italian dried spices. This one was really nice.
And the last pimply, which would not fit in the trays, was par boiled so I could soften it to fit on the very botton of the oven. I covered it with with coconut oil, butter, and cinnamon powder. I think I might have left it in the oven too long as it was a bit dry. but still nice. An interesting thing with this one was that the flesh pulled away from the shell really easily compared to the other ones.
And I have to say they all tastesd really nice thought I think honey would have made it sweeter, but I had none. Overall I like the italian spices and chilli the best. 🌶️

Hi All, I forgot to ask everyone is anyone out there has any old original "Gympie Gold" seeds as opposed to the Giant Russian one. Does not matter if you think they are no good. If you can get in touch with me I would be most appreciative. Either DM me or call me on 0467 006 529 - thank you, Vicki

My wasps bites are both good and bad this morning. Less itching but very swollen My hand is so swollen and the skin is so tight that I can't make a fist. The picture does not show it properly. So onto some immuine boosting remidies this morning. I'm trying the Tumeric and Green Tea Tonic. If nothing else it tastes really good. The swelling from my ear is half way down my neck now and still hot and itchy. But I am sure it will all settle soon😅

I was stung this morning by about 15 native bees that I did not see while I was cleaning up the front part of the house. They hurt. 🐝
I ran for ice but with so many bites I could not hold ice on every bite. So I reverted to the anti alergy eye drops which I find works wonders on skin alergies like ant or bee stings.
But I ran out and eventually had to take a polaramine to stop the itch and burn.
The pictures don't show it clearly how red the areas are and how hard they are. Hard as a rock. Just as well I had some alergy eye drops on hard or I would be covered it big welts.
Now I just have four bad ones. One on my ear, one on my forarm, one between my thumb and first finger and one on my back that I can't see but can feel this very large hard lump. I'll have to take another Polaramine before bed tonight to really fix them, otherwise I will go to sleep now and I have too much work to do.

Was taking the rubbish out just now and noticed the dragon fruit plant in flower. They look amazing right now. 😍

I haven't posted anyting for ages - to busy trying to do too many other things. I have yet to show you the gem squash I dried and not hope to test this week. but last night I found two gem squash fruit that had gone a lovely golden colour and desperately needed eating. One has just started to mould at teh base and had affect a bit of the fruit.

I cut it open, scouped out the seeds, washed and set then asied to dry. Then put some oil on each half of the fruit, added some butter, some ginger paste (that's all I could find), honey, salt and pepper.

The smaller one I could not cut open safely. It was too hard so I drizzlied some oil over it and put it and the two halves in the oven.
Now I meant to only cook them for 1 hour but I forgot about them and I'm not sure how long they cooked for but it was definitely over an hour as the oven alarm had gone off and I'd not heard it.

Anyway..... The two halves were so delicious that I ate them straight away. The whole squash, cut open was also slightly sweet with no added salt, pepper etc. I scooped out the seeds first and will see if they can tolerate over heating and sprout. Probably not but it will be an interesting test. I have to say that the seeds also cleaned up very easily and I might be able to use them as edible seeds. Needless to say after I added salt pepper, butter, honey and ginger paste it too was very tasty.

But I did prefer the first one that was baked open with all the ingredents added. It had the lovely caramelised honey, ginger flavour. Yum Yum. You must try it. 🤤🎃 More Fresh seeds in a few more days.

Happy New Year everyone.
