Further to my post yesterday with regards to the COVID-19 rules
Just received a further message from the Nursery Industry Association - who have been liasing with the NSW Minister for Agriculture and Western New South Wales on behalf of Members.
The Minister's Policy Director has Confirmed with the NGIA that ALL Nurseries - retail, wholesale and production are considered "essential services"
and should conduct "business as usual", however, we need to follow all formal advice and recommendations surrounding COVID-19 concerning social distancing and hygiene.
YES YES YES - We are still opening seven (7) days a week. Come on in a wander through our beautiful open-air Nursery and enjoy the beauty of plant life (which clean our air)
And there is MORE - beautiful stocks of Indoor Plants - plant life indoors helps to clean the air and also visually soften the "space"
May I share a "couple of paragraphs of Dorothea MacKellar's poem, which she wrote way back in 1904 and was first published in 1908
It describes our beautiful Country to a "tee"
"Ï love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains,

Her beauty and her terror -

The above paragraphs I have selected from six (6) of as they describe our Country so well. I feel we are still the luckiest Country in the world as harsh as it seems at times there is always a "rainbow" at the end if we wish to grasp it.

Sometimes the harsh drying climate can make gardening more difficult by drying the soil and causing it to become water repellent. We have a remarkable product "Penetraide" which allows the water to pe*****te to the plants roots where it is most needed and enhances the soils ability to absorb moisture, increasing plant growth. This mix also contains a slow release fertiliser which works in combination with the re-wetting granules for optimum plant growth.
Just sprinkle around your pot plants, garden beds, shrubs, fruit trees, lawns and water will pe*****te and be absorbed for up to 12 months, even after a complete dryout

Just a note to remind us that PLANT LIFE is very important to the wellbeing of the community and the environment. Our plants produce oxygen, which we all need. They remove CO2 from the air, and we know there is too much of that. Many of them give us sustenance and flavour our food. Most of all they soften the environment and make us feel better. Indoor or outdoor the plants are a key part of modern life.
It is great to see so many younger people finding passion and inspiration in their plant choices.. Plants in the garden and/or in pots may also become a talking point for this generation that we feel has been overcome by technology, and screens. In plant life we can see a living thing that is inspiring and making us feel relaxed
MULCHING
There are four important reasons to mulch. The first, and probably the most important, is for water conservation. Mulch stops the top of the soil drying out, keeps the soil moist, and can reduce watering by about 60 per cent. Mulching also prevents w**ds and w**d seed germination, which compete with plants for moisture and nutrients. Mulching also keeps the soil temperature constant, and using an organic mulch means you're adding extra organic matter to the soil. So that's an added benefit
